Just realised that we've now had 2 managers in two years who both thought it was worth spending 5-6mil on flint. Grim

To be fair... plenty of people (me included) thought Flint was a decent signing at the time. Didn't he have double figure goals or something crazy for a very defensively solid Bristol City side the season before?

Yeah, I thought Flint was a poor replacement for Gibson, because he was too similar to Ayala, but I certainly didn't think he was that bad a defender. It's only really his time with us, and subsequent career, that has shown him to be.

At least we only lost £1m on him.

I don't think anyone would have predicted that a 6ft 6' centre back who had scored 38 goals in 5 seasons for Bristol City, 9 of them in the previous season, would struggle so badly in front of goal for a Tony Pulis side.

The set piece manager, and we managed 1 goal from a set piece in that whole season.

We still had the best defence in the league though.

Watford after josh king apparently. Is fletcher going to end up like 4th choice?

Will probably still get chances and have a big five year deal.

Looks to have some decent footwork plus won't get pushed or shoved off the ball easily being built like the proverbial brick outhouse. I can see why we are having a closer look at the lad as there does seem to be something there.
