Didn't a footballer break their foot trying to reach a remote control while in bed, or something equally ridiculous? It might even have been a metatarsal, IIRC.

Was a David James did his knee ligaments playing PlayStation I think. Another keeper buggered his foot up trying to cushion the fall of a jar of Hellman’s.

Darius Vassell The then Aston Villa striker missed several games after he drilled through his toe nail with a home power drill thinking it would relieve the pressure on a swollen toe. The attempt at DIY surgery succeeded only in giving the toe an infection which required medical attention.

Have drilled a black toenail before but by hand with sharp drill bit. Worked a treat to relieve the pressure

Interesting to see that we still want another midfielder after payero. Linked with crooks today and that Flynn downes the other day

Crooks is an odd one because he played as a striker when he played for Rotherham vs us, so his flexibility could be useful. Doesn't seem like he's an out and out CM like some of our other players are.

Yeah definitely an odd one. Warnock said he sees payero more as an attacking midfielder so you would think we would want an out and out CM

That was Dave Beasant when he was at Chelsea. He knocked a bottle of salad cream off a shelf and decided to kick it back up in the air as he hadn’t been able to catch it. The problem was, he wasn’t wearing anything on his feet.

Almost said Beasant but thought it was more recent. Cheers!

David James pulled a muscle in his back reaching for the remote. He also did his shoulder in while fishing.

Rio Ferdinand was injured for a while after watching TV, he was sat with his feet crossed and raised on the edge of a table, for too long, and the weight of the top leg caused too much strain on the knee below
