“I don’t think there is much difference between Dylan and Jeremy, if I’m honest, and I don’t want to bring someone in just for the sake of it.”

Wonder if that means he sees Sivi as a 1st team squad filler rather than a youth team option?

That's how I read it, for sure. Definitely sounds like Sivi is looking likely to be in and around the team.

As I’ve repeatedly said, if we were seriously interested in him, we would’ve given him what he wanted or at least made an offer that trumped Luton’s because ultimately we have the financial clout to do just that. It appears we put in a speculative offer hoping to get him on the cheap.

That's the politics that put us in this mess ... Saville, Fletcher ... You name it ...

Over paid and bought way too expensive ...

I am glad we don't spray money like *** any more

I think particularly with those two it was more about a manager being corrupt and poor oversight from the club.

also the second we get money we will be:

it’s repeated behaviour

Not sure what you find so wrong about that comment, Luton were willing to give him more than we were as we clearly have a budget depending on the player.

We liked the look of him but not willing to pay beyond the fees we set and fair enough, it's nice to be quite strict with things for a change unless they're players who can push us on massively

We can both be really interested whilst not willing to match what another club is willing to pay. We might have wanted him just as much as Luton did without wanting to pay what they did. Every club has their own valuations of players that they won't budge on and it's entirely plausible that regardless of how much we wanted Mpanzu, Luton were willing to pay him more than we were willing to.

What Humpty seems to be saying is it's a case of battling with financial muscle and in the case where both clubs have been trying to bring him in, if we really wanted him we would have paid more than they were willing to and I don't think that's the case at all. Luton might have been willing to stretch their budget for a player they know plenty about whilst even if we really wanted him, we could have said "This is our limit and we're not going beyond it".

I don't think Humpty is saying we should do that just to beat clubs out, more that the fact we didn't means we didn't really want him. Which I don't think is true.

Form an orderly queue, you bunch of miscreants. I was purely expressing my disappointment that this topic had been dug up following previous complaints.

Hasn’t Peltier filled in there during pre-season? I assume we’re happy with Peltier and Bola fighting it out for that spot. Glad he’s only going out on loan and not a permanent transfer. Still think there’s a player in there under the right circumstances.

I assumed they'd brought Peltier in because of the Fischer injury, though I suppose he could cover both. Wouldn't be surprised to see another one come in regardless.

Djikesteel and Spence as cover on the right maybe? Spence is not ideal but like you say Peltier can cover all across the back four.

I think Coulson going on loan is perfect hopefully he develops at Ipswich who are very much a club going for L1 promotion hope he succeeds and keeps Sunderland down 🤣

    • I’m not getting carried away, again we have played better against a struggling Cardiff team.    Im worried that we don’t seem to string passes consistently together but then when we do we seem to create clear cut chances. I wonder how good we would be if we did that more often.    Happy for Payero today, I really think he’s made our midfield a bit more dynamic and without Howson and McNair in there to slow it down we look better going forward.    Tav is so wasteful. I wouldn’t want to drop him, but I think he thinks he’s better than he is and I can’t work out why he doesn’t play the obvious pass but then would moan at Uche for not squaring it to him.    Uche was a handful all game and I’m gutted he didn’t get a goal, another day his left footed curler goes in.    We rode our luck and should have conceded but the luck has been with us the last two games so it’s about time.    not getting carried away but can’t complain with three wins and clean sheets on the spin. Go team.
    • At least Warnock has a future in HR training when he decides to pack football in.
    • Hard to argue against me being fickle given I was vocally calling for a change after Hull.  We've lost this season with better performances than against Peterborough. We've also only beaten 3 poor teams, but I'm back on board right now, and I'm glad to be so. I like Warnock as a person, so even when it was going badly I wanted a change for results rather than because of who he is.
    • Derby drew again. You're not gonna stay up by drawing, guys
