If Fulham are interested, we can wave goodbye to that one. London, Silva and the money factor will play too big a part you'd imagine.

It's not that simple though, they still have to work within FFP with a new manager wanting his own squad and it seems they couldn't meet an agreement with flamengo, likewise with Al Nasr. They're both arguably bigger draws for various reasons but doesn't mean they necessarily can do a deal

I don't expect we will sign him but it's certainly not impossible just because others are interested

Interesting.

Not overly excited as it's just a random foreign player I'd never heard of before the links, and who has barely kicked a ball at senior level, but it's still fun to be having negotiations at neutral locations.

I hope it pans out as it's something different.

I didn't say it was, but the odds are firmly stacked against us. I don't pretend to know Fulham's FFP situation however i'd hazard a guess that they've got a lot of wiggle room as they've just been relegated. That given, if they're seriously interested the odds are stacked heavily against us.

Who knows really, we shall just have to wait and see

This is actually insane haha

“Meeting today in Lisbon to discuss the future of Rodrigo Muniz was attended by Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel, Flamengo's soccer vice and executive director, and Neil Bausor and Leo Percovich (ex-Fluminense), Middlesbrough's CEO and technical assistant”

Just to follow up this tweet, he says we are the most likely destination and it should be decided today. Other potential options are Al Nasr and Fulham.

The bright lights of London's West End and a penthouse pad or all those take aways on Linthorpe Road. Tough choice for the poor lad to have to make.

Joking aside, for an older player with a family there is a lot to offer around Rockliffe within a 40 minute or so commute time. For a young lad thousands of miles from home in a strange country and a language barrier my guess is that London would be a far better option in terms of culture and just the psychological fact that Heathrow is on his doorstep. I can't see places like Harrogate, Durham or even York being of interest to him socially.

He's a bit more than that. He's one of Brazil's hottest prospects and would be an incredible signing at this level. There's a good reason Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are also interested.

I'm all aboard having him as a potential signing, and if we sign him I'd love him to smash it, but there's also a reason that a Championship club is his most likely destination rather than those two.

It's also interesting that despite the stereotypical criticism Warnock gets on here and elsewhere that we are chasing these types of Players. It indicates a possible longer term strategy for the Club and an openness and willingness on the part of NW to plan for life after he has gone and to not leave a squad full of ageing overpriced mercenaries. Instead preparing foundations to build upon.
