Probably won't until he's finished quarantine Yeah, the fact that the club passed the info to the Gazette that Payero is all done and dusted meant it was pretty obvious that the official announcement wouldn't be imminent. They probably just wanted to get the information out to stop fans getting worried.
DanFromDownSouth 1,706
Very pleased with the apparent appointment of Scott, been crying out for it for years. As others have said hopefully Gibson gives Scott the room to maneuver in terms of making decisions, and hopefully we don't jack this approach in after 6 months. Bringing him in next month should allow him plenty of time to scope the club out from top to bottom and really lay the foundations for our long term strategy. Rather than the haphazard/slap dash approach to this the summer Pulis left. I hope that the transition from head of recruitment (At Norwich) and stepping up to Sporting Director/Director of Football/Head of Football* with us is a smooth one. Hopefully he's learnt well under Webber and can really step up with us.

No, but the timing of Warnock's quotes coming today, the same day that the solid transfer rumours emerged, suggest it's pretty close. I can't imagine we'll sanction the sale until we have a striker coming in.

Rat catcher 293
I can't imagine we'll sanction the sale until we have a striker coming in. I would rather have the money up front rather that a total dud. Getting rid of Akpom would be a major achievement.
TeaCider24 12,631
Even if it's just for Akpom's sake, I hope he leaves. He's had six months of a manager publicly saying he's not good enough, playing wingers as strikers instead of him, and now the manager is openly saying he'd be happy to sell him as soon as possible. His motivation will be at an all time low if we don't move him on, and I can't say I'd particularly blame him. I don't think he's good enough, so I wouldn't be sad to see him moved on, but I do feel bad for him.
DanFromDownSouth 1,706
Apologies if it's been mentioned already but Norwich have a vacancy for a "Head of Technical Scouting". Think that may all but confirm Scott is off.
