Wouldn't be shocked if it's Bamba/Paterson. Announced today or tomorrow you'd think?

Great signing, pleased we've got it done. Three years isn't that good though was hoping it would be four and club have an option of a fifth.

If he's as good as we're hoping he'll be gone halfway through our PL season, with 18 months left on his deal for a huge fee....

Banfield-Boro romance confirmed?

Can we make a link up with them like we done with Juninho club if he smashes it. I also reckon they are praying for payero to smash it here as if he does it will attract interest in other players in this league. Will make for a nice export market

In the gazette article about payero signing it mentions at the end that we are not back in for Muniz and reports that we are back in are wide of the mark. We are after other strikers now it says

Probably to try and get Fulham to hurry the paper work up i imagine.

They're not going to crash the signing of a young Argentina international that is considered quite a coup with the announcements of Bamba and Patterson. They'll come tomorrow I'd imagine

I think even if we did go back to it, we probably weren't very hopeful. We got played the whole time we were involved in that deal. I get the feeling its more about Flamengo trying to force Fulham's hand by suggesting we're back in with a chance of signing him.

Not to say there's zero chance he ends up here, you never know as we don't know how serious Fulham are about it or whether they will go through with their offer. But I suspect we are working on something else instead whilst waiting to see how that develops without our input.

Transfermarkt has the deal costing £6.08m

Imagine that's spread over 3 years and including add ons?

It will be. Very rare that clubs pay it all up front even at the very top end. Its also better for cashflow purposes. I know Mike Ashley used to pay all the transfer fee up front though usually

    • John Ruddy been officially let go by Wolves it seems, I wouldn't be totally against him signing. Was always a Good Championship level keeper for both Wolves and Norwich. I read something regarding George Friend a few pages back the other day and I would be totally all for it, would add some great leadership and the fans would surely be right behind him still and as a left sided centre back I think he could do a real job for us even if just as a back up option. Also heard the Rhodes rumors and I personally believe he is a perfect Wilder Striker, such a hard worker¬†and a great finisher. Which leads me to my final former Boro player, Ben Gibson. I again would love to see him return and think he could flourish in the left sided centre back role for Wilder's system. I do think the best options for those outside centre back roles are more suited to a full back converted/secondary centre back but at Sheff United Wilder didn't always have that option and was still greatly successful. If Fry was to leave Gibson would be great in the middle of the 3 of course.¬†¬†
    • Very strange move, but apparently it's a three-year contract and for good money. He'll finish is career mid-table in the Championship.
    • Nothing mate. Just a hunch feeling.¬†
    • Heard something more or just speculating?
