Dan_Boro_Till_I_Die 1,181
Karanka signed some fantastic players we had ambition and the players we signed excited me. Matt Smith is not gonna get anyone excited regardless if he does the job those types of signings scream no ambition or creative thinking in the market. You don't have to spend big money to find good players who you can be developed or a gem from somewhere. Edited June 14, 2021 by Dan_Boro_Till_I_Die
DurhamRed 2,047
We should get that Robert Mak who's just done a great dribble for Slovakia he only plays for a small national club side.

I mentioned him when he was a Free Agent last summer. Always liked him; tidy, tricky little winger.

Trouble is every other Prem and Championship sides scouts are watching thinking the same thing in these tournaments. Chelsea will probably sign him for £5m blowing us out of the running, loan him out for 6 years getting his wages plus a loan fee paid into the bargain never ever getting anywhere near their first team getting back the £5m on him in loan fees and then sell him as surplus for £15m. Rinse and repeat.

An experienced manager (with a decent track record) that will play a similar style of football to what we will be set up to play.

So wouldn't you mean another Warnock then? He's the manager now, and we'd want someone similar to him, not his assistant.

LinoJo3 3,191
I was on the fence about renewing for next season but if there’s even a hint of Blackwell getting the job to replace warnock then I’m done. There’s no point paying to support if even the chairman has given up.

Our current manager is Warnock, but in your view the logical thing would be to appoint 'a Blackwell' as his successor, but not the actual Kevin Blackwell who is our assistant manager, just someone like him, but not someone like the manager we have now? What would the benefit be of appointing someone like Blackwell (but not Blackwell himself), rather than someone like Warnock, to continue the work that Warnock has done? If you just want an experienced manager with a decent track record that would play a similar style of football, then wouldn't that be someone like Warnock, in fact, exactly like Warnock? No where I just made a suggestion that if we want consistency after Warnock goes we should appoint a Blackwell as opposed to flip flopping again.

But not the Blackwell? You wouldn't consider him as a viable option?
