Can we buy Peterboroughs scouting team instead?

HES 20 YEARS OLD.  I've said this so many times, the majority of players his age haven't even made a first team appearance yet and are still developing in the underage groups or in the lower divi

Some rare positivity from me, but I don't have a problem with the Lumley signing at all. He's young for a keeper, on a free, has a point to prove and by all accounts has a good attitude. We know

Can't wait to sell an actually competent footballer and replace him with two 6'4 ogres that we will be stuck with in a years time when Warnock retires.

But you must wait (til July).

The 72/FLW are aren't good as sources. They're just fan blogs basically.

The "source article" is literally a blog piece on 4 ins and 4 outs that Middlesbrough "could see".

They were pretty much on the money about Derby though. Even bloggers have to get their info somewhere, (unless they're the type that just makes stuff up for clicks), so presumably they have sources of their own.

So in the spirit of transfer gossip.

What would you accept for:

Fry?

McNair?

Tav?
Spence?

Fry = 10m + sell on fee (but I'd rather not sell him if at all possible)
McNair = 5m
Tav = 20m + sell on fee (I really don't want to sell him)
Spence = £1m + sell on fee (I wouldn't sell him without one of those).

I should probably have said mine!

Fry 12 million + clauses (Think club would sell at 8+clauses)

McNair? 5 million (Think club would sell for 4)

Tav? 12 million (Think club would see for 6-7)

Spence? 1 million + clauses (Think that's probably what club would go for)

Fry - £10-12m

McNair £5-7m

Taverner £15 - 17m

Spence £2 - 5m  with sell ons just incase.

That's around £30m potentially if those values were achieved. My figures would concur with them as well so if realised that would be a significant war chest at this level or it may just simply keep the Clubs head above water keeping in mind that Bulkhaul will have suffered during Covid and Rockliffe will have been decimated.

I think McNair is overrated. He's poor in a back 2.. in the right line-up he's OK in a back 3.. and very inconsistent when in midfield. 5m is a great deal.

These sources are basically fan blogs who make stuff up to get clicks. They basically decided it would be a nice idea like one on YouTube would do stating the 4 most likely to leave and 4 most likely to come. It's made up nonsense with no substance.

Mcnair has to be 10 + million

Tav 15 + million

 Fry 20+ million

Spence 5 million

    • I'm so happy to read considered opinions on the subject, i must admit I've been lazy and only getting my boro chat from the Gazette website comments sections recently which are jam packed with very very dubious posts about politics and Marxism and subverting everything that is english by taking the knee.   I'm very interested to see what happens, if an england player scores then takes the knee. The perma outraged booing mob will be conflicted af and so I'm sure it's going to happen.    Reading comments here has restored my faith fair play to oneboro, I will not stray again...    living in NZ now so I'm excited about the euros, but not enough to watch at 1am with work in the morning!    in the past I was always excited, then we'd do rubbish, so I lost hope, then just fudge through the group stages and start to look up for it in the knockout phase getting me excited again only to crash out in controversial or underwhelming performance circumstances.   now it's fair to say I get more excited as the tournament wears on, always with a shield around my heart in case we get knocked out by a hand of god or uncounted goal that bounced a yard behind the line. we had a bit of luck in '66, but I think we've paid for it ever since.   a young squad with a lot of potential and a very intelligent manager, I'm hoping we put on a show for everyone.   UTB and come on england!
    • It's been all over the place since Eindhoven.
    • we realy don't know how the club operates behind the scene.
    • im guessing you are trying the same tactic as me - end up at that bottom and then in the knockout stages swoop to eliminate a top seed!!!
    • Lets hope he gets the team right. England expects. Will he start Grealish, is Maguire fit?
