@Lurker. You saying we never been interested in bringing Yannick back on a permanent mate? You got any other snippets? Thanks in advance.

No, we've made an offer but no decision yet. Don't expect one soon either.

If our scouting and recruitment team can't do better than me looking on transfermarkt, then I'd look to sign a better scouting and recruitment team.

As much as I think our recruitment team leaves a lot to be desired. I do wonder how much they've been hamstrung this summer (and in the past).

Looking at the signings we made under Woodgate's (and our shift away from our norm) tenure they all seem to be well on their way to be successes (Dijksteel, Hall, Bola and lesser extent Stojanovic). Even Moukoudi since leaving us seems to have really improved. Food for thought.

But we're shifting Away from that again. Warnocks whole not signing anyone he hadn't personally scouted sort of indicates that were (once again) tearing up how we were doing things and starting with another different approach this summer.

That's kind of my point, let them do the job (like under Woodgate) and they appear to be fairly competent. Shift away from that and we start to dip into the realms of trusting someone who wanted to shell out £6m on Gary Madine 😬😬😬

yep. its how these things work. any higher profile or prem loan goes to the wire usually. Shop windows.

Our entire scouting system is bizarre, despite every other summer being told we are stats based and money ball there is no consistency to what we are doing.

After the early Brexit we went to Monk who diddled us out of millions buying players through his agent.

Essentially did the exact same thing with ‘both ends of the deal’ Pulis before coming to woody.

So were Woody’s signings from the scouting team, his agent or from connections in the game. They certainly weren’t very good under him.

Then on to Warnock and his mates down the boozer routine (except for Hall who had already signed).

Despite this chopping and changing every window we get linked to same players.

there appear to be no consistency and certainly no model we are following. And that’s even without the bizarre changes in management style every switcheroo.

I think that exacerbates the situation massively. The recruitment team are having to change the profile of players as much as we've recently changed managers.

No surprise that the better operators of the transfer windows seem to be the teams with consistency in playing style and managers.

I'd honestly love to eye up the lists our scouts/stats guys serve up so we can scrutinize them the same way we scrutinize the signings we do make, to see when we had a chance of signing somebody who has come good, when we were fortunate to avoid a mistake. So we can look at whoever the stats guys gave to Warnock and he said within 5 seconds that they can't defend and see whether we agree with him.

Because we are a club in 2021 operating like it's 2008. We're so far behind clubs it's laughable. Gibson lost a lot of money because he's not clued up with regards to football. He wouldn't run his company as poorly as he runs the clubs. He's been well and truly taken for a ride.

Of course we'll always be grateful to him for what he does but most of the issues are self-inflicted because he appears to be too stubborn to get someone in that does know football.

We have no consistency or model to build the club around. It's been all over the place since we January 2016.
