Dan's Summer Transfer Thread

I think the only 'common' thing NW cares about, is players doing their best for the team, and the club.

Bolasie and NML choose the boro over other clubs because of NW, so why don't you think they have more in common?

Can we buy Peterboroughs scouting team instead?

HES 20 YEARS OLD.  I've said this so many times, the majority of players his age haven't even made a first team appearance yet and are still developing in the underage groups or in the lower divi

Some rare positivity from me, but I don't have a problem with the Lumley signing at all. He's young for a keeper, on a free, has a point to prove and by all accounts has a good attitude. We know

Great, I’m glad you think I’m wrong, I hope that you are right. It’s a point worth debating though isn’t it?

let’s start again...I think NW has more in common with McNair, Howson, Hall and Watmore than he does with Spence, Akpom and Johnson.

What do you think?

You've had some bad takes recently Billy, but I think this might take the cake.

NW has praised plenty of our non-white players this season; the one time he mentions a few white players in a row and he's racist all of a sudden? Come off it.

I didn’t call him racist, I said that he has more in common with the 4 players mentioned as they are all more mature, white players I’m sure he relates to them  more easily. Sadly, that’s just human nature. I, myself have many more white friends than I do black, not because I’m racist, but because I have more in common with them.
Warnock has mentioned cliques, maybe I’m leaping to conclusions, the last time cliques were mentioned at the club it was those dastardly Spanish speaking players and everyone was very happy to accept that and condemn them. I think Warnock has his favourites and the 4 mentioned by him are on his wavelength, more so than some of the others.

He highlighted his favourites in the interview, not me. Take what you want from that.

You literally posted the above just a few posts ago ^

Now you seem surprised that people think you're calling him racist.

It's not a point worth debating at all, it's a disgusting attempt to slander a man without any actual basis.

I'm embarrassed you've even raised it.

Not surprised at all, people leap to conclusions and have their own agendas. Why has nobody called me out for accusing him of ageism?

Because the 4 players he listed are all of varying ages?

I'm starting to wonder if this is a slyly subversive take on how easily offended some people can become at the mention of race (rather than at the mention of age, ginger hair etc). If so, point made. If not, shall we park this debate?

So basically you were being a ***?

*** off.

Nope, not at all. It just occurred to me when I saw the 4 names mentioned by Warnock and I thought it was worth mentioning.

    • I'm so happy to read considered opinions on the subject, i must admit I've been lazy and only getting my boro chat from the Gazette website comments sections recently which are jam packed with very very dubious posts about politics and Marxism and subverting everything that is english by taking the knee.   I'm very interested to see what happens, if an england player scores then takes the knee. The perma outraged booing mob will be conflicted af and so I'm sure it's going to happen.    Reading comments here has restored my faith fair play to oneboro, I will not stray again...    living in NZ now so I'm excited about the euros, but not enough to watch at 1am with work in the morning!    in the past I was always excited, then we'd do rubbish, so I lost hope, then just fudge through the group stages and start to look up for it in the knockout phase getting me excited again only to crash out in controversial or underwhelming performance circumstances.   now it's fair to say I get more excited as the tournament wears on, always with a shield around my heart in case we get knocked out by a hand of god or uncounted goal that bounced a yard behind the line. we had a bit of luck in '66, but I think we've paid for it ever since.   a young squad with a lot of potential and a very intelligent manager, I'm hoping we put on a show for everyone.   UTB and come on england!
    • It's been all over the place since Eindhoven.
    • we realy don't know how the club operates behind the scene.
    • im guessing you are trying the same tactic as me - end up at that bottom and then in the knockout stages swoop to eliminate a top seed!!!
    • Lets hope he gets the team right. England expects. Will he start Grealish, is Maguire fit?
