Nope, not at all. It just occurred to me when I saw the 4 names mentioned by Warnock and I thought it was worth mentioning.

I say this with respect to you.

If you had looked at the full picture and not just focused on that comment alone then I honestly don't think it was worth mentioning. And you would agree.

The number of non-white players he has signed during his 12 months here, the high praise of our two black full backs and fact he has said Dijksteel like a son to him who he invites to his house for food etc.

This is before we even get on to fact Bolasie and NML they primart reason for signing for us is Warnock. Former said NW probs managed him through best part of his career and he loved playing for him.

So no i don't think it was worth mentioning if all had been considered.

Can we buy Peterboroughs scouting team instead?

HES 20 YEARS OLD.  I've said this so many times, the majority of players his age haven't even made a first team appearance yet and are still developing in the underage groups or in the lower divi

Some rare positivity from me, but I don't have a problem with the Lumley signing at all. He's young for a keeper, on a free, has a point to prove and by all accounts has a good attitude. We know

I certainly wish I hadn’t mentioned it, I really didn’t expect such a big reaction and such venom from people on here.

Didn't think you'd get a reaction to an obviously race baiting comment? Come on man, you're old enough to know what you were doing.

We all make mistakes so best thing to do is learn from it.

However, you cant go around making baseless labels (or in your case indirectly claiming) someone might have racist tendencies when there no evidence to suggest it does not and not expect a reaction.

Being wrongly labelled or it being indirectly implied you are a racist does not and should not affect just the person. It should affect any person with a conscious hence why people rightly defended Neil Warnock on that. Even those posters who are not a fan of his as a manager.

I thought I might get a few laughing face emojis, I obviously misread the room.

Well with BLM still fresh in peoples' memories and with the number of footballers getting racist abuse on social media, I think its something most just don't find funny anymore.

Best all round just to steer well clear of those sort of jokes, even if there's no malicious intent.

Oh man, reading the last few pages of this thread is worse than watching a Warnock football team play. For the record I think Warnock has more in common with a Sloth than a technically gifted footballer.

Sloth...really?

I've always thought of him as an aggressive pigeon...or possibly a chicken...

    • Last I heard Maguire wasn't gonna make it. I just read he might not even play in any of the group games. Honestly, let's say we get through the group with aplomb, do you even bring him back in after that? Is he good enough to justify it? I guess it depends on the individual performances of Mings, White or Coady. It's quite hard to predict the first team for this game. Pickford, Walker, Stones, Rice and Kane are the only ones really that I'd be pretty convinced of.  The Independent has had a guess at what looks like a 4-2-3-1: Pickford Walker Stones Mings Shaw Rice Phillips Sterling Mount Grealish Kane
    • I'm so happy to read considered opinions on the subject, i must admit I've been lazy and only getting my boro chat from the Gazette website comments sections recently which are jam packed with very very dubious posts about politics and Marxism and subverting everything that is english by taking the knee.   I'm very interested to see what happens, if an england player scores then takes the knee. The perma outraged booing mob will be conflicted af and so I'm sure it's going to happen.    Reading comments here has restored my faith fair play to oneboro, I will not stray again...    living in NZ now so I'm excited about the euros, but not enough to watch at 1am with work in the morning!    in the past I was always excited, then we'd do rubbish, so I lost hope, then just fudge through the group stages and start to look up for it in the knockout phase getting me excited again only to crash out in controversial or underwhelming performance circumstances.   now it's fair to say I get more excited as the tournament wears on, always with a shield around my heart in case we get knocked out by a hand of god or uncounted goal that bounced a yard behind the line. we had a bit of luck in '66, but I think we've paid for it ever since.   a young squad with a lot of potential and a very intelligent manager, I'm hoping we put on a show for everyone.   UTB and come on england!
    • It's been all over the place since Eindhoven.
    • we realy don't know how the club operates behind the scene.
    • im guessing you are trying the same tactic as me - end up at that bottom and then in the knockout stages swoop to eliminate a top seed!!!
