Crooks will not have been bought as a striker. Just because he is tall doesn't mean he will be playing up front.

I didn't make the comment just because he's tall.

It was because he was being mentioned as a stand in for Ikpeazu so I thought it was a reasonable assumption.

As Brunners said, he's played there before and the reason for that is he's supposed to be good at holding the ball up and he's good in the air. Statistically speaking, he may even be better than Ikpeazu at those things. When he played against us at the Riverside, him and Smith were almost interchangeable at the top end so I can definitely see situations where Crooks plays both around a striker and as one, particularly in the situation if Ikpeazu gets injured.

If I just thought he'd be a good fit because he was tall, I'd be saying we should have Fry or Hall up there. His height helps but its how he uses his body which is the key thing.

You could have though as that is almost certainly the reason he was played as a forward for Rotherham.

While I often disagree with things you say, at least usually I can see where you're coming from. This one though; this one is just flat out bad.

Will Wing go the other way on a permanent do you think as part of balancing the books?

Personally I hope he stays, but I don't think you can rule it out. Ultimately though Wing has to agree to drop a division for that to work.

I'd imagine that Wing is in Warnock's plans for at least the immediate future, or else he wouldn't be starting friendlies. I think it will be partly down his own choice. Whether he is happy to be a squad player here, or would want to start somewhere else.

Coulson started as well?
