I'm desperate for us to win this, but yeah, a Rotherham win would put them a point behind Derby with 2 games in hand, they could do it. Derby and Sheffield Wednesday both going down would be a be

Genuine guy is Marv. Stand out player in 1st half of the season. Very unlucky to not have been involved more. Loves it at Boro.

Malley has very nice feet. Looks hard to deal with in possession

Daniel Dodds is meant to be very highly thought of, yes, surprised he hasn't made the bench at least.

Just coming back off a period out with injury.

That's the one. Would have thought this would be the ideal opportunity.

Is fisher definitely injured?

How annoying that we have 3 right backs and all 3 are unavailable for one reason or another.

He went off injured against QPR early in the second half.

Possibly back 3 with Kebano/Bolasie and Johnson at wing back?

Potentially. But again puts at least 2-3 players out of position. It's not like the game matters, surely it would be better to play youngsters in positions they're comfortable with and see how they step up.

That's Spence and Coulson gone.

He was taken off injured in the last game so possibly still out

I don't think we actually have a fit right back there, though. As far as I understand, Kokolo and Robinson are both primarily left backs, or at least left sided players. I think what you're saying is right regardless of how he swaps players round with the bench: there will inevitably be players out of position.

That line up plus Tav, Fisher, Fry, Dijksteel, Morsy and Browne is the core of next season's squad. Take out the loan players and those whose contracts are up in the summer and it doesn't leave much.

Interesting that while Warnock cleared a few out last season who weren't interested in playing he has done the same again this season but both times has trusted Johnson. Despite what some may think of Johnson he at least has professional integrity and honours his contract. If anyone had a genuine reason to be in a huff after his contribution in the first half of the season only to be dropped and see the team slide down the table it's Marvin.

So either our recruitment team finally sign us some decent attacking players for the first time in years or we go into next season with Watmore, Tav and Akpom as our only senior attackers?

    • This can't be correct because Austria have made it 100% They're playing Italy I think.
    • He did indeed; I'm sure recently I watched Foster talking about it again. If anyone hasn't checked out his channel by the way you really should, his youtube content is excellent viewing. Hope the PL let him keep the gopro!
    • That one reminds me of Paul Robinson scoring with a free kick from just outside his own box. Think he beat The Cycling GK Ben Foster with that one.
    • @DurhamRedi get that concern but at moment if you look at the possible first 11. We got Dijksteel, Fry, Bola and Tav all under 25. Add to that Lumley and Paddy who are both 26. That is 6 out my first 11 that are 26 or under.  In terms of 30 or above we only really have Howson and Morsy.  And Hall but I dont think Hall starts if Fry and Paddy are both fit. A bit more experience probably wont do us any harm in terms of grinding out results. Fully respect some posters might not see it that way mind
    • It's more because this is the route I want the club to go down sign players with potential not 30 year olds who are passed their peak. That is the case with Smith and hoillet
