Redcar Rioja 5,872
Take the badge off those shirts and they could belong to a Conference side and the way we have been playing lately a neutral could be excused for thinking the same. Bland indifferent shirts that scream the designer hasn't an original thought in his head. The shirts are part of the promotion of a multi million pound business and instead they look like something found on a North Ormesby market stall.
RiseAgainst 3,777
I quite like that home shirt, though it's a pretty close replica of the 1998-99 shirt. The chevrons, collar and armpit slashes are different, but the rest is basically a photocopy. I love the central badge positioning (as I did twenty years ago!), but it's hardly a 'wow' design, and it doesn't feature the white band which I think could (and arguably should) become part of our club's identity.

Well to be fair they are just ideas put together by fans - either using some kit design website or art software. They probably weren't intended to be original. I'm guessing whoever did them was just trying to recreate their "perfect" kit, using bits and pieces of other designs. I've often looked at kits and thought, "if only they borrowed a bit from another design they'd be perfect". Also, it gets increasingly difficult to be original over time, (rather like the music industry), as more and more designs are put out there. For the record I'm not totally sold on either, but I have seen worse... 24 minutes ago, RiseAgainst said: I quite like that home shirt, though it's a pretty close replica of the 1998-99 shirt. I'd really love us to go back to the 2006-07 design. It has the white chest band (with gold trim - nice touch) and another across the sleeves and shoulders. Nothing fancy or odd-looking. Just a simple, classy design IMO.
Snowblind 1,711
I'd be right behind something that's a nod to the old 74/75 kit. That was a classy, white band kit.

Would love to have a white band with simple lion (not the full badge) in, with no sponsor. Sadly the sponsor has to go somewhere and it would look wierd under the white band.
smogsterking the Inspirati 2,453
Although a betting company i did like Paddy Power a couple of seasons ago when they sponsored teams to not have their shirt sponsor. I'm not sure if we have a sponsor for this season as of yet mind.

Newcastle (sadly) had some canny designs which worked with the sponsor logo as opposed to it just being slopped in the middle. The 93/94 McEwans home shirt springs to mind, as does the 97/98 Newky Brown away shirt.

Hopefully more of the same with a few nice tweaks to it (transporter in background or is it just a general shirt pattern?)

Smogzilla 7,385
Is that a transporter bridge motif around the band? 10 minutes ago, Lord_Moose said: Not sure I like those black lines. Is that white under the arm too?
RiseAgainst 3,777
Still sponsored by a gambling company. I won't be buying one, however nice it is.
