EURO FINAL 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 V 🇮🇹

Now who’s indulging in whataboutary 😉

I’ve decided to chill out and a bit of self reflection.
I was too tied up in the #anyonebutengland which is vile at the least. And I’ve decided my obsession with the Scots is just as bad as their obsession with the English and it’s not healthy (on either side)

After reading all the negative comments on here about what should’ve been a joyous occasion on Wednesday night, it really hit a nerve that the jocks seem get a free pass but that is a me problem.
So I apologise, move on and it’s nothing but positivity from now on.
I have my kids, some face paint, a bucket load of pizza and hopefully something to remember

Well as I said in another post (probably on the ENG V ITA thread) for as long as I've been around I think its been a given that the home nations just don't like each other. Our media hype up the rivalry and we buy into it...too much sometimes.

I think thats probably more acceptable though. Kind of like arguing and fighting in the family, as long as we can be on our best behaviour when the neighbours come round. 😉

It is unhealthy to obsess over anything, so congrats on reaching a calmer state of mind. Probably just as well considering what we're going to be like tomorrow! 😨😱

Heading away with the good lady wife so won’t be back on before the final. Sincerest best wishes to the ordinary English fans on here. Hope it happens for you 💪

Every England fan last night  (Caution industrial language)    IMG_1425.MP4

Few excellent posts regarding the final and the tournament as a whole. On the pitch Southgate got basically every decision he made spot on leading upto the final. Even the decision to go to a win

Apologies, my intention here wasn't to infer that England is just as bad, more that nationalist papers do what nationalist papers do; promote nationalism. It is a bit pathetic but that's their raison d'etre and if I was fluent in nationalist papers from outside England, I could have perhaps came up with a better example.

Don’t worry buddy it was a very much tongue in cheek remark not to be taken seriously 👍

I’m going through more emotions than a teenager at the moment. Ranging from quite confident to really nervous. Right now I’ve been reading up on Italy’s CB pairing. As good as they are they are quite old, but we know that already. But the more I think about it the more certain I am that Sterling or Saka will get past them once or twice where I think it will result in a penalty for England. (So expect more conspiracy theories)

Sounds like Foden could be out of the final with a foot injury. To be fair, he probably doesn't make the starting 11 for this one but a great player to bring on nonetheless.

Today's the day.

The biggest match England have played since 1966.

One win from glory, one win from Southgate getting a knighthood.

Italy are probably the toughest opponents we've faced, so it's going to take some effort to overcome them.

Come on, England!

Rumours that Grealish and Trippier are starting.

Where have you seen this? Wouldn't be surprised to see tripper play

Probably 5 at the back if it is correct

It would sound like it, because I'd be shocked if he dropped Shaw or Walker after their past few games.

I'd be very worried about the midfield though with a 5 at the back

    • Even if Bola and McNair fit tomorrow, I wouldn't change a winning team which has the potential to have some confidence and take the risk of aggravating their injuries further. Start them on the bench and if the game isn't going our way then change it. Strangely confident going into tomorrow even before the forest result and im going with a 2-0 win . I just think there's so much to lose with a negative result and performance tomorrow.
    • Thanks for this I do have an interest in Railways and I guess I was a bit of an anorak in my youth🤪
    • as far as I know, it is still "under consideration"..  which usually means nobody wants to invest the money required ..  would certainly help even if only open on match days, but I fear it will go the way of the wind turbine and unless people start to kick up a fuss, the Transporter ..
    • Sorry my bad meant Middlehaven, so has the old Cargo Fleet Station opened now?
