Warnock........is he worth it?

I'm not advocating we hold onto Warnock but I've read a few comments online from fans who think we might go down if we get rid of Warnock. Does anyone think this could be a possibility?

That would suggest that Warnock is overachieving with our squad currently, which is clearly nonsense.

Been told he’s off

Easy enough to write patronising rubbish when you don’t actually support  the club? We are only Middlesbrough after all? Narrative seems to be ‘stop moaning, be grateful for what you have, with a bit

Revisionism and nonsense. 49 goals in a full season under Pulis, 68 and 63 in our seasons under Karanka. We might have been shot shy and moved the ball a bit ponderously under Karanka but we played ha

At the moment its also a distinct possibility we could go down with Warnock at the helm, unless he gets his act together.

Of course bringing in a replacement on short notice is no guarantee we'll stay up either. But given things aren't working well under NW and his staff, its understandable people are thinking a change is in order.

Just look how Klopp and Pep big their players up to raise performances not hammer their confidence!

This is one of the things that annoys me about Warnock the most and the main reason I've soured on him. Hate managers who throw their players under the bus rather than accepting any responsibility for their own mistakes. Even if the manager did nothing wrong, it at least takes the heat off the player to blame yourself.

If we put Jonny Woodgate in charge, yeah.

I wouldn't worry though, I'm sure Sam Allardyce can put off finishing his kitchen in April.

No I'm not sure it does suggest that, I think it probably suggests that people don't have a lot of faith in the club getting the right man and/or have a concern that we might not be able to find the longterm answer mid season.

Despite the mess we are currently in maybe people are concerned about another Agnew situation.

We HAVE to start getting things right as a club. IF the stories about the fallout - and degree of fallout - with players is true then his time is up for sure.

Next manager to come in? Well I would hope Scott not only has input but leads the recruitment choice and appointment. Sorry, Gibbo, you’ve boobed on appointments too many times .

Warnock is already on relegation form, hiring anyone vaguely competent should beat his 1 point a game average really with the squad available.

The idea that Warnock has gone from the promotion specialist to our only chance to avoid relegation is one hell of a turnaround.

It is Gibson's style to have someone in place before he announces a departure. Pulis had already been spoken to by the time Monk was given the push.

I'm sure if there's any inclination at all within the board to get rid of Warnock, we will have started the search and put the feelers out.

Club announcing International fixtures for our players, wouldn't expect them to do that on the same day as them announcing Warnock leaving, so I'm having doubts.

Though I suppose it wouldn't have to be today.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m spending too much time on here, but I think I feel worse about things now than under Woodgate.

Woodgate was given no money and was so out of his depth you had to have a little sympathy for him. With Warnock, it’s all very meh, not even properly announced as staying, just kind of kept on and that’s that. He’s done nothing but moan - needing more players, criticising the ones he’s got, pouring water on any excitement about potential new signings before they even start.

He continually talks about the fitness of players - Dijksteel the latest. Well he’s been a Boro player for 3 seasons now, if he’s not looking after himself, the club should be acting. What happened to Frankie the fitness trainer anyway? Players not taking care of their nutrition - surely that’s the club as well? Feels like players are just left to get on with things.

Then slagging off players to the media. Saying Uche is 2nd or 3rd choice (when he was the only CF we had) - then laughing that he “won’t read it” when asked if saying that to the media would have a negative effect.

He knew this season the direction the club was going. He knew Scott was coming in, he knew about the new Head of Recruitment and the type of players we were scouting. Why stay if he’s as apposed to it as his comments imply? He could have been selling the future vision, getting the fans excited, building for the long term and being part of a new legacy. Instead he sounds bitter, set in his ways and actively going against what the club are trying to do.
