🙌 FOOTBALL!! 🙌 Firstly, a confession.  I was a bit worried about going back to games, not because of Covid (although yeah because of Covid!) but because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to reconnect

Some ITK information from my Mum who’s at Bristol airport waiting to go on holiday 😉

Ikpeazu did more in 45 min than Britt did in a season. The guy is a monster and will get better as the season progresses.

I have absolutely zero interest in what we do pre-season.

I don't bother keeping up to date on injuries and only have a marginal interest in transfer rumours. I prefer to wait and see who actually signs for us. 🤷‍♂️

Did we sign Ameobi knowing he was injured or did he get crocked the moment he set foot on the pitch?

He hurt himself in the first training session.

Predicting lineups for games without figuring out who is available before you predict is a bit of a confusing one though mate!

Listening to Warnock's presser. no problem with the defence, no problem with the midfield.. and he's like to play Crookes in behind 'the striker' - why not just say Ikpeazu?

Unless the player that he would have tomorrow that he nipped out of the presser for is 'THE STRIKER' ?!?!

So does that mean that we'll be seeing this tomorrow instead of Crooks out wide?

Back four

Howson and McNair

Watmore/Crooks/Tav

Ikpeazu

Assume so. Not exactly what I'd pick but out of all the warnockisms it's the one I'd be most happy with.

I'd presume so?

The only other options to add into the mix would be Coburn, Jones, Sivi, Akpom.. not much wiggle room really.

It sounded like Akpom, Payero and Jones might be making an appearance.. most likely sub appearances.

Unless Warno has some mega last minuite transfer up his sleave and fancies dropping them straight into the mix?

he hopes Akpom would be available for Wednesday but it didn't sound like he would be there tomorrow.

Less than 7,000 tickets left. Looks like it’ll be a good crowd and should get over 30,000

There's absolutely no chance it goes over 30,000 with over 6,000 unsold tickets

I wasn't sure what the deal was with Payero after Wednesday night?  A couple of times during the game they mentioned him holding his groin or thigh I think.  He didn't go off injured but sounds like something wasn't quite right with him.  Unless he was just fed up of course.

If he wants to play Crooks behind a striker then I just hope that he actually does it, irrespective of who is available.  If that's where he think he'll be best then give the lad a chance to show what he can do there rather than having him stranded out wide.  Need to make sure that Ikpeazu isn't left on his own too much whatever we do.  When that ball gets played into him we need people buzzing around him/running off him as quickly as possible.  We shouldn't be on the backfoot as much tomorrow so that should be possible as we won't be defending as often.

Will the bridge bar outside the stadium have the manchester leeds game on before our game? If not where's the best/closest place to watch it

Only place I can think might have it on will be Lloyds in town, maybe? Back in the day, the Southfield might have too. Not sure, though.

Sorry if this makes me sound like a bit of a wuss, but I actually feel slightly nervous about attending tomorrow. I hadn't been to a game for months before lockdown started, so it'll have been nearly two years since I was in Middlesbrough, let alone at the Riverside.

After 18 months of being told crowds are dangerous and you're not allowed to socialise, it seems almost counter-intuitive to be squeezing into the concourses and sitting close to strangers again. I really want to savour every moment of this huge step towards normal life resuming, but the last 18 months have left their mark. Hope I get through the day without needing Propanolol/a paper bag to breathe into/another paper bag to be sick in if the performance is as bad as Blackpool.

You're not a wuss for being anxious about this mate, I am a little bit as well. I just found out when checking the tickets that there's only one seat around the 9 around me that hasn't been sold yet and it made me a little more worried about it as well.

Like you say, we've spent 18 months in this completely new way of life, it's gonna take some getting used to again. I only kind of remember the odd feeling that we even went to the games whilst COVID started becoming a thing, now it's odd to even be in close proximity to a stranger, I still hate it when somebody stands right next to me when I go shopping, masks on or off!
