Boro v QPR 2-3( Ikpeazu, Crooks)

Recommended Posts

Properly *** off after that, midfield was woeful and the defending for the goals

Jones carrying our entire attack - outstanding yet again

Uche was brilliant first half and barely involved second - need Sporar in to help him

How was Howson not subbed off and Payero given a chance to actually impact the game?

Speaks volumes when a 21 year old kid with 3 senior appearances is absolutely carrying this team at the minute

He reminds of Downing when he first broke into the team.  I mean different kinds of players of course, different preferred feet as well for that matter, but that instinct to attack his man whenever he

I have just read on another Boro forum that four QPR fans were attacked outside of the ground at full time. Two dads with their their ten year old boys were kicked and  punched to the ground by these

I feel this way too. With both McNair and Howson being defensive minded it left a fricken runway open in midfield for QPR to exploit. It was custom made for Payero to occupy that space. Absolutely baffling from NW 🤦‍♂️

Just now, Payero said:

Against derby I'd have mcnair holding and play tav payero and crooks  if tav is fit we have enough to be a good attacking outlet

I think Tav is out until the week after. Can’t see him being risked. He’s so important to us

Trouble is we will be playing against a confident Derby who will want to further regain some pride!

That was woeful. No way should we be losing to a 10 man team.

Some positives out of the game, but more negatives with the defending / goals.

Lumley should have done better with the second goal, and the defence just stood still for the third.

And nearly a fourth!

Warnock needs a win on Saturday after that tonight. Losing at Derby with their current troubles despite decent form would really get the fans on his back

Where to start… All three goals came from us being caught in transition in the middle third from sheer sloppiness. Add on the defending then we absolutely deserved to lose tonight.

Our ball retention was absolutely awful and then we either didn’t press well enough or get back into shape. Howson and McNair were awful. Their passing and impact on circulating the ball was particularly bad. McNair and Crooks are our two most advanced CM’s and having both players, along with Howson behind them, really limited our ability to get their foot on the ball and help us keep the ball. Crooks had a really good game but our CM unit of those three just didn’t work. It was too agricultural and not enough quality at circulating the ball. We need a calming head or two in there. Crooks needs to keep in the team. One of Payero or Morsy should come in for McNair (or Howson). It would surely help us keep the ball and prevent us being so vulnerable to being caught on the transition. Warnock should have sorted the CM debacle out. He seems to think McNair is a classy player, but he absolutely isn’t a good CM as he just can’t circulate the ball in tight areas. Lumley seemed to have a stinker too.

Jones, Crooks and Ikpeazu all had very good games. Spence done well too.

didnt watch it, didnt listen to it.....thank god. but somehow weve managed to replace perhaps the most inept keeper weve ever had with an even more suspect one. our midfield engine of Howson and paddy(once of man utd)McNair are being totally outpaced and out played by every duo they are pitted against, we really havent got any full backs as such, the defence centrally still capitulates at pretty much every cross hoisted into the box and theres no creativerty whatsoever.  topp that with a manager that reads his tactics from papyrus and a owner that treats the club as an indulgance .    roll on next season.

Warnock's not going to take his captain off, made him undropable. Two crap captains in a row. Not to mention the  goalies he's signed.
