I'm not just saying it for the 'woke' factor, and I don't know of any off the top of my head (other than Emma Hayes as she's on telly a lot), but surely some of them would be good enough to manage a championship team. If we were the first in the prem/championship to hire (or at least look for) a female manager, we'd have our pick. It just seems like an untapped area to me. Sorry, and I wholeheartedly support equality, but I think it’s a dramatic step to far for many. The championship is probably the hardest league to manage and there are so many ebbs and flows that require great knowledge and skill but more then that you need a very thick skin to weather critics. I watch women’s football because I can watch without bias and actually admire the standard its played but there is a gulf indifference in managerial standard to that required in the EFL. I would not state never because I believe it will happen but only, and only when someone with proven ability, has earned the right and can’t be ignored.

Skinemrippers 895
For the first time in a long time we do appear to have an actual plan. New head of recruitment to unearth some talent from abroad and home (tick), new DoF to oversee everything and make sure we don’t jump from one new regime to the next without any long term strategy (tick) an experienced manager to get us through the transition (tick) while embedding the new players and leaving a new manager an exciting and solid foundation (oh dear). My concern is that we throw everything else away as we are prone to do when things don’t work out as planned. The strategy is right, Warnock is proving to be the wrong man to implement his part of it. I was thinking to stick with him until the end of the season but one of the main things we wanted him to do (bed in the new players) he seems unwilling to do. So if one of our long term options is available, it’s a no brainer. If he isn’t, then the decision is to stick with Warnock or go with a caretaker who will keep us safe while integrating the new players. Not such an easy task. More of a do it himself manager I think. Wouldn’t fit with Kieran Scott probably
JonnyMFC 1,535
How about Michael Flynn?
ManBearPig 1,853
Lampard? Really? The same manager who fluffed it with Derby after having a team of Tomori, Mount and Wilson?? Not convinced by him to be honest, and how he was with Chelsea was okay, but again, a very talented squad and I think he would struggle 🤷🏻♂️

Doesn't want to work with a DoF and has no connection to Scott that I know of? Other than the fact that he's unemployed and people have heard of him, I don't see any reason we'd bring him in. We're going to be looking to bring in a pure head coach next I would guess. Just as likely to be someone most of us haven't heard of but the bloke at Blackpool could be worth a shout as I think he's a head coach rather than a manager.
