Are people.really having a go about us appointing an experienced, promotion winning, club record beating manager being put in charge above a former player who does have pedigree, but zero experience?

In terms of pedigree, 16 months ago Wilder was runner up to Jurgen Klopp for LMA manager of the year and spoken about as one of the best English managers around for us to get him to come to manage us

Have a feeling it might be Reiziger. Maybe he doesn't want to leave Ajax until the end of the season, which would leave us in a tricky position.

Ten Hag seems to be linked to loads of jobs, which would leave Reiziger in line to potentially become Ajax manager, doubt he'd leave before at least exploring that opportunity.

lol he turned us down . No we arent , there are teams in this league spending 20 million plus while already having squads better than ours . Every stat you can find on us we are sitting middle of the table

your talking about about the 3 teams that came down, thats not what i mean by top end, top end for me is top 8 i,e the the teams in and around the playoffs promotion run.

and what stats are you looking at haha?

https://www.transfermarkt.us/championship/startseite/wettbewerb/GB2

we have the 7th most valuable squad, (7th is hardly midtable)

https://www.transfermarkt.us/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2/plus/?saison_id=2021&s_w=&leihe=1&intern=0&intern=1

and we have the second highest net spend (only second to fulham) in the league this season.

I think its time we did something bold like we did when we brought in Karanka, instead of the usual merry go around suspect's. Id love someone like Steve round to be offered the position and see if he can cut it as a manager, he knows the club and he is highly regarded as a great coach worked under some brillaint managers.

If you were to ask me which of the usual supects Wilder would be the odvious chioce but id prefer Lampard I dont think he did much wrong at Chelsea or Derby.

Is Round not a bit of a ‘usual suspect’ though? He has a bit of the low effort appointment about him, I get that he’s most likely a progressive type manager who’d try and get us playing though so I can see the logic behind it.

I've seen Steve Round linked with managers jobs for a few years but as far as I know he's never managed a club and he's getting on a bit now? I would have thought he would be a fairly established manager by now if he was wanting to go down that route. Always had a good reputation as a coach.

Yeah I’d agree with that

That would be a bit of a leftfield appointment.

Still, I'd be interested to see what he could do with us.

Would love to know if Mendieta followed up his alleged interest in going into management by doing his coaching badges. Still lives in the area, last I checked. Reckon he would fit the "progressive" management style we're looking for.

Frank Lampard is mentioned quite often, he could possibly see a job here as an opportunity to get his managerial career back up and running, though I think he is a bit out of reach for us realistically.

I'd be very happy if he were to be the next man in, though.

I have a feeling Warnock will recommend Ryan Lowe ,got Bury up now Plymouth.

I doubt Warnock will be asked for his opinion.

By Scott, sure. Gibson is another thing entirely. Warnock surviving this break makes me start to worry that is still a problem to worry about in the grander scheme of this club.
