Lumley?

The one and only time I'll be itk- Lad fell out with Gardner and bowyer after they got him to sign a new deal with the promise of first team opportunity and they never followed through.  Giv

Thing that’s *** me off with this Tav talk is the disrespect from our fans on social media and forums, more so social media but I have seen comments today like ‘ I will drive him there’ in regards to

Like I said before, having watched him loads in PL2, he's far too good for that level. He's on the fringes of Arsenal's first team, it's like he's not quite ready for the PL just yet but he's well above the level of the Championship.

He's going to tear it up here, just wait and see.

I'm sticking by my 10 goals target for him.

I’ve not seen anything apart from highlights and with selective editing even I could look good on some, but from past posts DZ you have mentioned you watch Arsenal so in your opinion is this a loan signing that by Easter I’m going to hope that Arsenal will be willing to either sell him to us or give him a season loan next year?

Why are Celtic fans so deluded? They genuinely think the level of competition up there is better than the Championship.

They try to use Champions League football as a wildcard but it's not the distinction they think it is, when they're practically guaranteed a place every season.

Celtic don't even manage to make the CL Group stages every year. Think it's more often in the last 10 years that they haven't made the group stage from a quick look. Not like they're getting dumped out by huge teams either. They don't last longer than a single knockout round in any European competition when they do make it out of the Europa League group too.

I don't think it's completely worth dismissing, Celtic must be a great ground to play at, even on nights when you're getting thrashed by Sparta Prague. But the league is so bad, it's really not that competitive for anyone below Celtic and Rangers. Rangers got relegated 2-3 divisions and were still the first team other than Celtic to win the SPL title since that happened.

The exciting part for me is we now have a system that can be creative and get the ball into areas where these talented players can make a difference. Under the other managers it was the opposite, wasting talent on hoofball and holding it up. I hope your prediction is spot on.

They are very clearly a far bigger club. And Champions League football is a huge draw.

They are a far bigger club, and always will be, but they haven't even played Champions League football in 3 seasons.

They get knocked out in qualifying most seasons.

The way I see it is that champions league football via a Scottish team is really only a pull for a player for the short term.  What you potentially get from signing for a team like us is a potentially longer term goal.

We are looking like strong contenders for a promotion push and therefore the player could end up in the Prem, that being the case and we get promoted either this season or next, then the player only needs 1 good season before bigger teams come sniffing and the player inevitably gets a much bigger wage packet.

Rarely do players move from the top 2 in Scotland to the Prem and succeed, so the Celtic option has to been almost a last chance saloon and therefore its not a great career path to take if you have ambition.

From the scraps I’ve seen on the net, here and on the mentioned Celtic board it seems like Boro were about 1/2-1/4 £m off Charlottes valuation but we were getting close, Celtic came in and doubled our initial bid and offered good personal terms, as such both Charlotte and his agent pushed the Celtic deal. It seems though that the player likes the Celtic setup but really wants to stay in England.

So Boro have gone back in and it would seem have equalled or bettered the Celtic offer so now the agent allowed to speak to Boro about terms. Celtic have been informed of events and we all now wait to see if they can change personal terms and get him to commit or Boro get him to commit. No signing imminent or medical but looks good as whichever club gets him he looks like a player who thinking about what he really wants and how to get it. On paper Celtic or Boro shouldn’t be hard but the fact we are actually challenging is really great to see imo.

Great update spotted by @DevKWat

Agree with you there!

My Arsenal friend says he is class and works ridiculously hard, a proper pro.

If he bangs in the goals and runs non stop then he will be a fan favourite for sure.

If he performs well for us we could possibly get first option on a season long loan, but no way will Arsenal sell him.

We should enjoy him for as long as we have him, I'm seriously excited about this signing 😃

I suppose it’s only good if the players you want out actually go though. Or else were stuck paying players we don’t want

Yup, although, as the football world begins to pay us a little more respect, those players start to look more attractive, marginally, to other teams.   "Wow, we're in with a chance of signing a CB from Middlesboro!!"

End of the day. If Middlesbrough played in the SPL.

We'd be in the Champions League.

Yes, that may get CL and stuff but it's no achievement.

They have four league games and some qualifiers in Europe cause they're so *** they can't qualify.

Get beat by Macedonia league winners who themselves would get slapped in League 1,

So does this mean Tav for sure is off to Leeds

Not necessarily, like I said yesterday Gibson loves to back a manager when he feels we have a good chance. And we also do need cover/competition for Tav anyway
