TLF10 4,492
I have fond memories of our win at Hawthorns under Woodgate. That was a good day. I can see Lumley returning for this one and also Petier. I would take Tav out along with Onel. Tav needs a rest / a notice that bad performances wont go unpunished so to speak. Lumley Peltier Bamba Paddy Dijk Howson La Saliki Jones Watmore Sporar Coburn

Foxtrot Oscar Colin 607
I havnt seen much of West Brom this season but from what I have read the manager had been implementing the same style as Barnsley played with last season. Quite physical and direct with intense pressing. Apparently he's been struggling to get them to adapt to it as the players don't suit it so it will be interesting to see how they play. Looking at their squad they don't have a great deal of height in forward line or midfield although hugill can be a bullying presence up there id be reasonably confident bamba could handle him. Grant and Robinson are quick and decent strikers but not that physical. Id be more confident with dijksteel and mcnair handling those type of forwards than a target man. I'm just concerned about the quality they have out wide with diangana, Phillips and snodgrass to choose from and warnock hell bent on playing wingers at wingback. I'd go with a back 4 here with dijksteel and peltier full backs trying to look after those wingers and hopefully starve the service a bit. I think 3 at the back would get pulled all over the shop. Any news on any injured players coming back?

Lumley Dijksteel fry McNair Bola Howson Tav Crooks Jones/watmore Hernandez Sporar I would say that would generally be his first choice 11 based on who he's picked when they've been available. Bamba coming in for fry is more or less like for like, so only Bola is a major miss. Payero didn't get a game till injuries meant he had to. Uche had been relegated to the bench when everyone was fit. Hall is a stand in for a centre back if they're out so isn't first 11. Browne, fisher, ameobi are write offs and we knew that before the window shut. I'm getting really sick of this constant excuse, both from our manager and from the fans that are eating it up (on twitter more than here). He was talking today and claimed that we are decimated. Pure and utter lies. I get what you are saying but its a squad game, Just look at the bench on Tuesday night..... Over the last number of weeks we have been missing or we will be missing Bola, Fry, Hall ,Crooks, Ikpeazu, Payero, & Dijksteel for one reason or another. We HAVE known about Brown, Ameobi & Fisher all season but it lessens the strength of the Squad nonetheless. I dont think anyone is eating up excuses as such ( God knows he comes up with enough of them) but there is no doubt injuries have not helped.
Foxtrot Oscar Colin 607
Lumley Dijksteel Bamba Mcnair Peltier Tav Siliki Hernandez Watmore Jones Sporar If no injured players are available again. I couldn't bare to think of howson back in that midfield absolutely shocking player.

If we line up 352 against these we will get torn to shreds I think. There's not that much creativity through the middle so if you can stifle the wide men thats the our best hope of stopping them imo. I really think we need proper full backs playing here not wingbacks.
sanddancer 1,967
My choice would be to put all the player numbers in a bag, shake, shake, shake and the first and consecutive numbers that fall out fill the positions 1 thru 11. I mean no one seems to be able to play the positions they are allocated so how bad could it be..

That would be an additional bonus! I think right back is now Howsons best position, This management lark is fairly easy innit! If I stump up for the ferry ticket, do you fancy hopping across the Irish Sea to Smog Town? 😁

That does appear to be Boro's current modus operandi. Give us hope in the first half, then go to pieces in the second half. 😢

West Brom are slightly different to Fulham and Bournemouth in my opinion, cos those two can just outplay you to beat you. The way West Brom play is not too dissimilar to how we play really. Self-destruction aside, if we can turn it into a battle or a bit of a slog then I reckon we could keep it close and get something from it. Wouldn't surprise me if Peltier was back in the side, maybe even in midfield.

You could at least spring for a flight! Having said that, they decided to close Cork Airport for runway renovations just as travel was allowed again! Closed for 3 months. It was open when nobody could travel,How Irish is that🤣🤣🤣🤣

What does it say that we won our 3 games we had during the worst of our injury "crisis"? And that we've fallen apart again as we start getting players back. Maybe just that we were playing the worst teams in the league granted, but maybe there's more to it
