I have a bottle of gin ready to celebrate our win. It’s the only spirit I know you drink out of huge fish bowel size glasses.

You can actually do that with any drink. As some of my posting the other night showed 😂😂😂

Negativity on here is terrible. Playing 2nd place in the division away from home. A tough stop start game. Missed a couple of really good chances which on another day could have won us the game. They

We've missed some golden late chances and not been at our best - but why there is so much negativity on here is beyond me. We're on a great run and playing an away fixture against an extremely tough s

Disappointing result and performance, but nights like last night are standard in the Championship - even for promotion candidates. Even during our promotion under Karanka we had many of these types of

Sneaky feeling we'll win this, Warnock should have beat them at the Riverside and without Diaz their strikeforce looks quite weak with Gallagher completely off the boil.

Interested to see how we lineup for this, I'm going for a 2-1 Boro win.

I reckon it'll be Connolly and Sporar starting again with Balogun on the bench.

Wouldn't mind that, I thought Connolly looked okay on Saturday.

Agreed, finishing was off but got into good positions and made a few chances himself. Excellent workrate too, just looked like one of those where he was too desperate to make an impact and snatched at those chances. Balogun looked silky smooth when he came on so wouldn't cry if he started either to be fair.

I thought Connolly ran around a lot but saw nothing to impress or to make me think he isn't just another in a long line of Boro loaned Strikers that have underwhelmed us. I'd pick Akpom over him based on that showing id he were still here. There is however still time for him to get match sharp and to improve so lets wait and see but Balogun oozed class from his first touch of the ball. I'd go with Balogun and Sporar with Watmore coming on for one of them in the 2nd half.

    • A retired Shay Given gives us 15 more points than a season with Lumley
    • It’s going to be a hard transfer window and I think people may be expecting miracles. If we are to go up automatically we need to find an extra 20 or 18 points, a big, big ask. So the question would be, how much is the club willing to invest for a play off. To get up there we need to be out the blocks quickly and remain consistent and I don’t see that happening bedding in new players. The other question is how many quality players do we need and are they available, more likely, possibly not.  Realistically if we do well in the transfer market I’ll settle for the playoffs.
    • 2 goals in 26 games in Turkey demonstrates his goal scoring prowess, if this floats your boat  - fair enough. A resource who costs far more than his worth.
    • happy for Sunderland, about time they got out of the third tier. so, thats another to add to the play off hopefulls next year
    • considering the attitude and quickness to fault pick on posts that dont match thier view that a fair few of the more prolific posters on here, have. thats a bold statement and i admire you for stating your opinion, which in all fairness is quite an accurate assessment.  if we get the Ben Gibson of the AK era ,then im not against resigning him but his form at the first half of this recent season was not a patch on that. add to that his wilderness years at burnley and the fee/wages ,well yep im in with the dont sign crowd. hes got most of the boxes ticked and tbh im not bothered wether hes more suited to a flat back four system, we could and most likely would do a lot worse in our choice.of alternatives.  personally i would take a gamble on ryan porteous from hbs , young(23), agressive, leader, brave and good in the air and with the ball on the ground, i say gamble purely because hes had off field issues and fall outs with management.
