There were arrests made, weren't there? Can't remember if that was before or after but I definitely heard there was bother in town before the game, too and I know for a fact it was feisty on the way out of the ground past the away end.

I would imagine they won't forget the events of this season in a hurry. I should think not too, as it should serve to remind them of what some of them were happy to accept and even encourage in some parts with Morris in charge. But for those remembering this year, I'm sure that will mean they remember the part they felt we played in it.

Football hooligans who appeared at court

A string of football fans have appeared in court for their behaviour at the Middlesbrough v Derby clash.

The match took place in February at the Riverside and was assessed as 'high risk'. Extra police measures were in place to ensure safety but despite this a total of 18 people were arrested and charged amid "pockets of disorder".

Sergeant Adrian Dack from Cleveland Police said it was 'the worst match he'd ever seen' in terms of bad behaviour. The force launched an extensive investigation after fans were caught on camera.

Teesside Magistrates' Court heard the following cases:

Connor Wheatley

Connor Wheatley

This Boro fan was banned from matches for three years after calling Derby County supporters "f****** little w******" in an abusive slur.

Connor Wheatley shouted "come on" to the rival fans whilst they were under police escort ahead of Boro's clash against The Rams. The dad-of-one, who has been attending football matches with his dad for 20 years, attempted to "instigate disorder" at the the Riverside Stadium match by goading fans on February 12.

Prosecutor Ben Woodward told how the 24-year-old shouted: "You f****** little w****** come on" to rival fans. He added that he also attempted to "instigate disorder" whilst attending the match at the Riverside Stadium and was subsequently arrested at the scene.

Mr Woodward added that Wheatley is of previous good character and applied for a football banning order. Neil Douglas, mitigating, described Wheatley as a "classic football supporter" who can "make the place look untidy".

Mr Douglas stated that he does not engage in "hooliganism" and will lose his "principle weekend activity" of attending football games. Wheatley, of College Road, Thorntree, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive, insulting words, behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Middlesbrough.

The magistrates' bench handed Wheatley an £800 court bill, including a £650 fine for his actions. He was also slapped with a three year football banning order.

Fenton Blenkinsop

Apprentice welder Fenton Blenkinsop landed himself in court after "engaging in fights" at the match.

Blenkinsop was caught on CCTV during the matchday disorder ahead of the Derby County clash. The 21-year-old was "beckoning, shouting and goading" at the Rams fans at the Riverside Stadium clash on February 12.

He pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive, insulting words, behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Middlesbrough. Prosecutor Ben Woodward told how Blenkinsop was captured on CCTV cameras, along with a group of males, "engaging in fights" with Derby supporters

Blenkinsop will return to Teesside Magistrates' Court on July 27 for sentencing. He was granted unconditional bail until that date. Before leaving the courtroom, Blenkinsop, of Peirse Close, Middlesbrough, told magistrates: "No worries, sound."

Sean Allen

This football fan was slapped with a three-year ban after his bad behaviour.

Sean Allen, 35, has been an ardent Middlesbrough supporter since the age of six, but will now have to miss out on watching his beloved club from the stands after admitting a charge of public disorder.

Allen, of Glendale Road in Acklam, pleaded guilty to a Section 5 Public Order offence, using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour, when he appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court. He was one of 13 men and a 17-year-old boy due to appear in court following reported clashes at a Middlesbrough match against Derby County back in February.

Gurjot Kaur, prosecuting, told the court the fans from the two teams appear to have a hatred towards each other and many incidents of disorder broke out on the day. She said: "There was a heavy police presence and Cleveland Police even requested back up from other forces, including North Yorkshire and Durham."

Allen, a single father, was fined £366 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £37 victim surcharge. He was given the minimum term football banning order of three years.

Jamie Lathan

Jamie Lathan

This renowned Teesside football yob has been given one final chance to change his ways - or he will be put behind bars.

Match day 'moron' Jamie Lathan received another football banning order for his role in the Derby County chaos in February. The Boro supporter goaded a pub full of away supporters, swearing and trying to engage them in fighting in Middlesbrough town centre.

The 34-year-old has a lengthy history of matchday mischief - but says his latest crimes were a "wake up call". It comes as he appeared for sentencing after being warned he could be facing prison.

The Stockton dad was previously told that he was "not fit" to attend a match. Lathan has been banned from the footy - for the maximum of five years - after Boro's thumping 4-1 win over Derby.

"Why behave like a moron!?" fumed District Judge Helen Cousins. "It gives football fans a bad name."

District judge Cousins sentenced Lathan to 16 weeks in prison as his "unpleasant behaviour justifies a custodial sentence". However, she suspended the jail term for 12 months so it will 'hang over his head'.

"Make no mistake, breach it [the football banning order] or commit another offence and you will go to prison," she added. Lathan replied: "I understand."

Lathan must also complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and an alcohol abstinence programme for 90 days as "punishment" for his actions. He must also pay £85 court costs and £128 surcharge fee.

James Ward

This Boro fan who admitted chanting at and goading rival fans says he was struck twice by police batons.

James Ward, 36, pleaded guilty to a Section 5 Public Order offence, threating, abusive or insulting behaviour, when he appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court. The court heard that Ward, 36, of Corby Avenue in Acklam, Middlesbrough, has been a supporter for more than 30 years. It also heard that in 2013 he was fined for pitch invasion.

Gurjot Kaur, prosecuting said of Ward: "He was making gestures towards the Derby fans and effectively goading them. He gets involved with disorderly behaviour and making a number of chants."

Colin Sleeman, defending, said his client had been a football fan for more than 30 years, attending both at home, away and international games. He said the incident of him going onto the pitch was so long ago it should not effect the magistrates' decision.

Ward, who works in cable installation, was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £34. He was given the minimum length football banning order of three years.

Oliver Foulke

Oliver Foulke hurled a bottle at Boro supporters before being tackled to the ground by police officers.

Foulke was slapped with a football banning order after his "stupid" behaviour before Middlesbrough 's clash with Derby County on February 12. The 22-year-old goaded rival fans and 'beckoned them over' during the matchday disorder at the Riverside Stadium.

Prosecutor Ben Woodward told how trouble erupted prior to the clash at the Riverside Stadium and Foulke was originally stood apart from the fighting. However, he then picked up a bottle and threw it towards a group of supporters.

The Middlesbrough court heard how he was goading the rival fans and "beckoning them over". Mr Woodward told how Foulke was repeatedly pushed back until he was later taken to the ground by police officers and arrested.

The prosecutor added that Foulke has no previous convictions and submitted an application for a football banning order. Andrew McGee, mitigating, told how his client has worked as a plant fitter for five years and the offence is "out of character".

The magistrates' bench imposed a £715 fine and ordered Foulke, of Woodfield Road, Pinxton, Nottingham, to pay a total court bill of £872.

He was handed a three-year football banning order.

Max Weston

Multiple football fans were arrested after alleged disorder ahead of Middlesbrough's match with Derby County

A self-confessed 'complete tool' has been banned from football matches after his appalling behaviour at the Middlesbrough and Derby County clash.

Max Weston appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour at the match on February 12, at the Riverside stadium. CCTV footage played in court showed Weston goading rival fans.

Prosecutor Tyler Plunkett said Weston was in a gang of troublemakers who were shouting and chanting at Derby supporters. Mr Plunkett said due to earlier issues at the match, Cleveland Police officers formed a line separating the fans.

Weston, of Fernwood, Coulby Newham, could be seen repeatedly shouting 'come on' urging the fans to get passed the officers. Mr Plunkett said it was evident this was to start a fight.

Weston, 22, was handed a three-year football banning order, fined £666, ordered to pay a £67 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

This footy fan launched a bottle at rival supporters during the Middlesbrough vs Derby County match.

Boro fan Aidan Mulpetre, of Rosedale Gardens, Stockton, has been reprimanded for his behaviour at the match on February 12. Appearing at Teesside Magistrates' Court, prosecutor Tyler Plunkett said the match was 'high risk' and a total of 18 people were arrested and charged amid "pockets of disorder" on the day of Boro's win.

Sergeant Adrian Dack from Cleveland Police sat in on the hearing. He told the prosecution it was 'the worst match he'd ever seen' in terms of bad behaviour. Police said the "vast majority" of supporters behaved but a "minority were intent on spoiling the day".

CCTV was shown in the court of the 21-year-old reacting to Boro's winning goal. He could be seen celebrating and gesturing towards Derby fans before throwing a plastic bottle at them.

The Teessider was charged with 'throwing a missile at the spectators area' and pleaded guilty at the hearing. . In mitigation, John Spooner, said the defendant is of previous good character and the act was 'complete and utter stupidity.'

Magistrates discharged Mulpetre conditionally for six months and handed him a three-year banning order from matches. He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £22 victim surcharge.

There were arrests, but I've only seen mention of verbal issues.

I suppose it could have been that Cleveland Police did such a good job as to prevent violence, but I don't have the highest opinion of them.

Thanks for your kind words and comments, and its great to see the positivty on our site again talking football at long last.

EFL are agreeing to all our transfer dealings, so dont get your nickers in a twist LOL,

3  signings later today Conor Hourihane, James Chester and David McGoldrick, couple of loans from Brighton should be happening in the next couple of days, so the future looks bright thankfully.

A Sunderland style few seasons seems likely. Always there and there abouts but not quite making it, then they'll come back up in 4-5 seasons

Seffield Utd, 6 - 7 seasons in L1, certainly hope its not that long.

Definitely made a few signings that wouldn't be out of place at this level which is positive.

All 3 could have gone elseware for more money, so its refreshing that they want to come to Derby on lower wages, my faith in footballers as gone up a notch.

Thought McGoldrick would have come to Boro to join up with Chris Wilder again, he lives in Nottingham so a shorter journey to work could be the reason.

He would have been fourth choice, possibly fifth choice striker if he came here, at Derby he's going to get regular game time. Obviously feels he can still do it despite his age. I wouldn't put it past him getting into double figures for you.

You need numbers. Will you take Uche, Coulson and Hall in exchange for Knight? Might even throw an Akpom in there for good measure 😉
