It’s still the type of player we need to sign, so we might aswell sign someone who has played well in pre season and has already settled int he group. The chat he and CW (most likely) had was along the lines of. Train hard impress in the friendlies and we’ll discuss your contract after that. We’ve just finished our last pre-season game so now they’ll sit down and discuss contracts. Also it seems an easy one to get across the line so don’t see the rush to get it done. A) Sign for Derby, lower wages but guaranteed starter B) Sign for us on higher wages but be a backup player What happens depends on what's more important to the player.
