Bruce 1,524
If the Mowatt transfer has legs I think he's more likely to replace Howson than McGree; the good thing being that he could play either role. As far as I can see the absolute minimum we need in this transfer window is another striker who is better than anyone we currently have plus Mowatt or his equivalent. A LCB would be ideal but McNair can do a decent job there until January. To be honest, I'm not sure this is a top-6 side on paper: Watford, Burnley, Norwich, WBA, Sheff Utd are all clearly stronger than us. We seem to be in the tier below with the likes of QPR, Millwall, Blackburn, Coventry, Stoke etc. I'm certainly starting to get the vibe that we may be looking at Hoppe plus two more max by the end of the window which does leave us looking really stretched. Should also say that I don't think Lenihan is the middle CB in a 3: I think he's a much better RCB which, ironically, is the one position we have strength in depth in. scotty189 925
So any of the ITK's heard anything regards Mowatt?
JTG 2,267
Seeing as though there’s nowt else going on thought I might as well mention that Hoppe has started following a north east based barber on Instagram who seems to cut half the squads hair 😂 Fresh trim for his announcement? 👀

There are just some who question whether it's wise to have him on gardening leave while we are paying his wages and have been very short on strikers for the opening games. I don't think he is good or suits our style but just in the last game we resorted to putting Crooks up front which was in no way a succes. Would it have been better to put Uche on? Maybe. Maybe not. But no one wants him ahead of a new and better signing, but so far we haven't been able to get that in leaving us very short on options.

Dynamo Kev 1,552
i dont think we'll get a lcb. i also dont think we'll get another striker it untill deadline day. so might end up missing out altogether. mowett would be brilliant signing and straight in the team. probably in howsons position. then howson comes in for mcgree/crooks. because howson is probably less likely to ever be benched if fit.
Brunners 7,952
https://www.eurosport.no/fotball/skuffet-og-frustrert-over-egen-klubb-skulle-onske-de-kunne-ha-solgt-meg_sto9078301/story.shtml This is pretty damning stuff from Strand Larsen IMO - The club does not want to sell me. It is tough and heavy. I don't want to make a fuss about pushing through a transfer, but I was hoping they could have sold me by now. Football is fresh and many clubs are interested. It is frustrating that they are holding on to me and that they are not helpful in this situation. And the club has heard from me that I am disappointed with them - It is frustrating that the club will ask for so much money for me. In a normal setting, they would have accepted the offer from Middlesbrough, but the club does not need money. Then, unfortunately, it becomes something you can't do much about. I have realized that our sports director is not so easy to deal with. We will see what happens in the next few weeks, before the transfer window closes. - Middlesbrough will fight at the top of the Championship and seem very interested in me. In addition, English football is exciting, with everything that goes with it. Had the club accepted an offer from them, I could quickly go there, - They are taking away from me an opportunity to move on. The club did not deliver well enough last year and see me as an important player this year. They push the price up as far as they can until it becomes completely ridiculous. It's boring and frustrating when they sweep away several clubs. I feel like I'm fighting a battle against a wall. - Do you wish they could have sold you? - Yes. I am disappointed with the situation I am in right now

I hope we get him.

Personally I reckon we’ll find a compromise.
LinoJo3 3,098
Surely they can’t hold onto him now, it’s no good for anyone. I’d bet behind the scenes Groningen are talking to new strikers and will give us a call when they find one so they can pay for it. No way can they be just going into the season thinking everything will be fine with larsen.

Booo. But doing Public interviews about his unhappiness with the board might put a bit of pressure on them to sell.
