Probably worth splitting players out from teams that were relegated as they traditionally go for higher amounts

even so, Benrahma, Adam Webster, bellingham, maddison, watkins maupay, bowen are 20+ for championship clubs who were not relegated.

Ross Stewart is another Charlie Wyke for me. I have my doubts if he can be prolific in championship.

So did the scouting team when we could have had him for 300,000.

I wasn’t denying that there are £15+ signings just looking for a comparison. With those listed most are strikers which again go with a premium.

it’s hard to think of a full back with no top flight footballing experience going for the kind of fee some people think he will go for.

Where I don’t agree with Rob is that I don’t see COVID as having any effect on premier league spending. Lower down it has.

I suspect we will do something like £10m with Spurs a couple of add ons and perhaps a loan player possibly Parrott.

The way some react negatively to us being linked with some players that aren't exciting names, you'd think we were in the Premier League and not the reality of us being a Championship side in the very early stages of a long-term rebuild that has to be done a sensible budget. Wilder's 2018/19 promotion winning Sheffield United team didn't have any particularly exciting names and or big fees spent, yet they were an incredibly high performing team, so I see them as a decent template for us to expect as we build our team in line with our long-term strategy.

That’s partly down to how Boro fans have been trained I think.

Look at last season shitting the bed over a league one midfielder and messing the sheets over an Argentinian midfielder.

Even in January it was ohhhh he’s from a Premier League team so that means good.

but thats a list of 20+ million players, as i pointed out earlier the list of players going for 15+ million is 32 in the last 5 years alone.
And im not one of those that thinks hes going for 25-30 million, i was countering a point made that 15 million seems to be the max played for championship players.
But on the point of value, i do think 10 million is far too low given the clubs which are supposedly in for him, the general hype around his at the moment and the fact he was in the championship team of the season and has just been called up to the under 21's.. and hes english which always adds abit haha.
I think it will be 15-20 million with some add ons  is probably the ball park we are looking at.

John Swift has more assists than all 4 of those combined last season.  Our midfield is nowhere near creative enough imo

Probably because John swift had a free role behind the striker also played up top a few times
