DocMartin 682
Well, I can’t believe people are talking as if Payero has gone for good, based on what, a clock and prayer emoji 🤣 Nobody knows, those that pretend they do are modern day Nostradamus’s are they? The lad has undoubted skill, struggled with a new language, country, lifestyle, potential loneliness etc. People almost talking as if its done, get a grip and wait for the club to say officially…….. or not, as he has likely just flown home to spend time with family and friends. If it is any different there will be an official announcement from the club rather than any poster on here.

Also looking at Daniel Iverson but Preston are interested in signing him on a permenant basis and we’ve asked Leicester to keep us updated. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/20131992.middlesbrough-make-move-newcastle-keeper-karl-darlow/ Would be a good, solid signing. Have Brynn as backup. We're not looking to sell Payero. 7

TeaCider24 12,641
Not sure I actually have an opinion on Darlow, I'm sure he was originally dropped by Newcastle for clangers, but then I also remember him getting good reviews last season when Dubravka was injured.

Will 2,958
If we genuinely have Darlow as our top GK target I'm worried that either Wilder doesn't know what he wants in a keeper, or the recruitment team don't know what Wilder wants in a keeper.

Not a glamorous name but an upgrade on what we currently have imo. Wouldn’t be my first choice but I don’t hate it. Can’t imagine a large fee being involved as I’m sure Newcastle will just want him off the books. I suppose looking at other goalkeepers in the league this season we don’t really need to break the bank. Foderingham, Bentley, Bialkowski, Samba. None of them are necessarily flash, just good solid shot stoppers.

Neverbefore 10,942
Darlow has always done well when he's had to step in for Newcastle, dubravka tends to be injury prone so he's had a fair bit of football. I don't know if he's any good with his feet though. Either way, he's a massive step up from what we've had since Randolph left.
DocMartin 682
The good news is at 31 he doesn’t have many miles on the clock, the bad news is the reason why. He is a cross between Joe Lumley and Brad Jones, with a soupçon of Ben Roberts thrown in for good measure. It is a huge no from me

I’ll ask my mate about him he’s a Newcastle fan but wasn’t he their first choice GK when Dubravka was injured? If memory serves me right he wasn’t that bad to be honest. Yes, a very vocal and commanding keeper who has attributes such as being a really good shot stopper and can save a penalty too. I would say he’s better with his feet than Daniels but not as good as Lumley maybe but a much better goalkeeper as he can command a box and make saves. It would be the exactly type of signing we should be making in my opinion.
