Good going forward but shocking the other way. With three at the back and Dijksteel effectively covering he could be a good option especially in an attacking team pushing forward. Offensively he is good and likes to attack, as poor as his defending is at times I have also seen him charge back and get in some decisive tackles but I understand it's the howlers that linger on in the memory. As a back up to Jones I would be more than happy.

Akpom, Payero, Fisher, Ameobi will all be like new signings for us. What more could anyone want from a transfer window? 🤷♂️ With the exception of Darlow I find that list pretty depressing reading. I hope to God it isn’t a true reflection of our potential list of signings. Payero is the only one in the secondary list of players on our books - bin them all apart from Payero. We need to be smarter, more imaginative with potential signings. Rhodes? 4 years ago perhaps. Gregory your typical journeyman footballer who has a good purple patch this season. I have to say the list is underwhelming and with the exception of Darlow will not be much of an improvement- if any- on the personnel turning out for us. Not even good enough as squad players! No doubt some will disagree- this game is all about opinions is it not?
smogsterking the Inspirati 2,453
Not reading too much into anything as of yet. I wouldn't be against Rhodes coming back as long as he is a 'depth' signing. I think he showed some quality against us to have someone like him to bring on or to play the odd game here and there. Obviously if he was signed to be first choice I would be more concerned but I doubt that will be the case. I think he would prove to be an upgrade on Connolly based on last season. RiversideRed 1,216
I'd take Rhodes for the bench as the third-choice or fourth-choice option out of five depending on what happens to Coburn. He may opt to loan him out to get him regular first team football in League One. Darlow for £2m-£2.5m would be a very good pickup. He's experienced and we know Newcastle need to offload players. Gibson again I would bring back but would prefer it to be next summer when he's only got a year left on his contract. I could see us being able to pick him up for £2m-£3m in Summer 2023. Robin Johnson 612
Fooled me - even though we have been credited to varying degrees of interest in the list of players. The squad players mentioned? Frankly Payero is the only one we should maintain an interest in.
Dan1234 1,048
Wonder if Leeds staying up has any impact on Tav? Seems they are always the first team linked with him.
northern boro 446
I see Uche Ikpeazu's page is no longer accessible on the Boro squad part of the site. It now says access denied. https://www.mfc.co.uk/teams/middlesbrough

There are players on that squad list that we know for certain are leaving that are still accessible.

SouthernSmoggie 4,223
Don't know why anyone would be worried yet. It's May. The PL season literally just finished, we still don't even know who's promoted yet. Free agents haven't had their holidays let alone decided who they'll move to. Anyone who claims to know exactly who we're targeting is talking rubbish. Way to early to be refreshing forums and social media for transfer news. I'll be taking a Boro break for a while 😂
