So an older player with an injury history including 3 ACLs looks after himself by not taking part in full training every day, instead doing work in the gym.

Not particularly unusual.

Think there's a lot to slate Foster about, but don't think this is one of them.

Says he can't train as much on the pitch as he used to because of past injuries, but on the days he's not training he's in the gym, so it's not like he's just turning up on saturdays to play games. Less training time and more gym time is probably expected for a 35 year old goalkeeper.

Nevertheless I don't think we should be signing a 39 year old keeper.

I'm just saying that he doesnt train much...the poor diet is bit of an issue too.

I think we will do well to avoid Ben Foster at all costs, focus doesnt seem to  be on football in general

If he looks after himself the poor diet is easily worked around.

Not training much isn't at all an issue, it's not uncommon for older players to get days off.

The problem with Ben Foster isn't his diet, or his no training, or his vlogging. His problem is he's ***

Wouldn't touch with a bargepole

Wonder if two experienced keepers will be able to come and work alongside that young goal keeper we were on about getting?

A great environment to learn from the likes of Foster and Heaton? I could think of worse places to learn your trade…

I wouldn’t be Interested in foster myself. From seeing what Watford fans were saying about him last season, he was awful. Seems he’s more bothered about vlogging and cycling. Which is fine, he’s focusing on his career after football. The fact one the owners spoke to him about it and said it needs to stop and foster agreed but then kept doing it. That doesn’t bode well, plus I doubt Wilder will put up with it. I’d much prefer Butland or even Heaton

A thirty nine year old goalie, typical Boro desperate signing again, Jim Platt looks fit , get him in.

We're not in for him, it was just a typo.

It's not a typo, the Northern Echo definitely claim we have talked to him.

The Teessiders have also held talks with Ben Foster, another ex-England keeper who is a free agent after his release from Watford, and Tom Heaton.
