So looks like he's had two good seasons in a row now, his last season at Walsall he had a sv% of 77.2%. This season it was 76.3%

Both of those would be top 5 this year in the champ. Different league I know, but still.

He has had five full years as a starting goalie, from what I can see. 2 in L1 and 3 in L2.

And yet he left Walsall cos they wouldn't guarantee him first team football, according to google anyway.

He obviously had a very good season just gone, 21 clean sheets in 46 games is nice.  Before that though it's 7/32, 10/32, 7/42, 5/24.  That's a very basic stat like hence me asking if he's any good as I don't really know anything about the fella 🤷‍♂️

One thing I hadn't put together with Roberts is that he's coming from Northampton where WIlder used to be manager. Obviously having only joined them last summer he hasn't managed him but you'd think there'll be people at the club that Wilder knows and will have spoken to about him.

Yeah, this one line is all you need to know this article is bullshit. Tav's contracted until 2024 as we all know.

They've bid around 9m for him atm but club just won't let him go for that. If it gets to decent amount i reckon we will sell. Not too sure they'll go that high though

What happens if they are people who never liked Wilder?

Unless someone here happens to watch an unusually high amount of league two football, you're unlikely to get an answer, sadly.

Clean sheets are a bit of a dangerous stat to use - Lumley had 13 last year and he was a disaster.

Yeah I know mate, on both counts.

Second choice goalkeeper at a club like Boro must be a hard position to fill. You obviously don't want to pay them much, but you want them to be good enough to play in the first team whenever needed, and also be happy to sign knowing that they probably won't play that much. It's little wonder that a lot of reserve GKs are oldies or youth team graduates.

Roberts seems a good medium though. He's getting to make a couple of steps up the ladder, and will hopefully be hungry to try to force his way in.

Well then they probably told a little porky and we have Joe Lumley 2.0 on his way for a medical 🤑

Beyond his save % I struggled to find any other meaningful statistics - at least any that go back further than last season, which we already know was pretty good!

Last season was the first time he had a decent team in front of him though as well, think previously every team he had been in was in a relegation fight.
