We have had a few options for keepers for weeks but Scott wanted to wait until new keeper coach came in so he has an input. Good thing is talks have already took place

I can see Darlow coming in myself.

Strange window so far.  A couple of deals agreed with clubs done but waiting for spence money to complete them one a big loan but an upfront fee.   1 player signed but won’t be announced until after return from holiday.  There was indeed a medical today not heard the outcome though? Don’t rule out extra out goings though.  Could be big window this!

Any names you can give us for deals agreed, are they all previously mentioned or new ones

Previously mentioned yes.  Still have enquiries for some not mentioned.  We tried for Bryan from Fulham but Giles is preference now as Fulham won’t be selling him yet

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Twitter account is genuine. It’s clearly a random middle aged women with surely better things to do than make up rumours. I’ve had a look through her tweets and she’s been saying since 7am this morning it’s happening, it almost seems too weird not to be true.

Have you heard anything on Payero as we rejected the initial loan bid, are we looking to keep and keep the project going?

I'm trying to remember all the players we've been linked with on loan:

Armstrong

Gayle

Darlow (could also be permanent)

Iversen (same as Darlow)

Choudhury

The West Ham LCB

The two lads from Bournemouth

anyone else?

From his message I don’t think goalkeepers are agreed as the new coach would make the decision first so I bet it’s Armstrong and maybe the West Ham lcb and Bournemouth

I can't see the West Ham or Bournemouth players costing hefty loan fees though.

It could be Armstrong but Southampton don't have many strikers as it is so I think we'd be waiting for Spence to be sold AND them to get at least one striker in before we could sign him.

Minimino going to Monaco was a blow for us. Spence hold up  is for a different deal/

Nice to hear we are being proactive and lining up deals before Spence is sold and other clubs try and have us over a barrel.

Shame about Bryan as he’s a player I’ve rated since he was at Bristol City but Giles is a good alternative and I’ll be very happy if we manage to get him in.

Great news about Giles. Out of all the names linked for the LWB role, he's among the top tier targets so I'll be delighted if that's as close as rumoured. Jones and Giles both at wing-back is going to provide an incredible amount of creativity to the team.

    • What's been ignored in all of this transfer noise is , a striker scored on his debut ,  COB
    • Found a Dutch defensive midfielder Mees Hoedemakers who may fit the requirements, unfortunately again in the highlights his defensive ability not shown.  The Italians in the previous post and this player have valuations of 1.2 million euros or less if Transfermkt can be believed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTj5iZhK0Rs Also an Australian box to box midfielder I'd recommend Boro have a look at is Angus Thurgate, a big improver last season, became more of a threat going forward and  definitely handles the defensive side as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGb-QtRhfas
    • Choudhury looks he would be a top signing if he wants to come here, someone said he's rejected us twice though. Here are two other defensive midfielders I've come across on database searches, both Italian. Pity that their short highlights don't include their defensive efforts, but they both look like they can control play in possession well. Both also have been loaned extensively by their parent clubs, they might be interested in a permanent home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do1xIWsDD8A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYhm0Rt6PTk
    • Clearly Parker not the only coach that isn’t in charge of recruitment
    • Just a thought but....   General concensus is we need a lcb and at least two midfielders. And in reality the only ones we've been "linked" with are greaves, choudhary and hannibal. All British based players. We also need at least one more striker, and we've been linked with hoppe, Henry, larsen to name but 3. I wonder if there are possibilities of us finding a gem or two for the defensive and midfield positions from abroad too. Especially given the eredivisie link and we have only really been linked to 1 player from the Dutch league.
