Would he have represented too many clubs? Did he play for Ipswich too this season?

Not sure it matters when it comes to U23s? Seem to be able to play just about anybody, barring the number of Over-23s.

There's no mention of that in the Premier League 2 rules, that's only an issue at Senior level as far as I can tell.

To be eligible for the U23s:

"A player shall not be named on the team sheet and/or play in a Match unless:
114.1. the Member Club holds his registration under the provisions of the Premier League Rules (in the case of a Member Club which is in membership of the Premier League) or the regulations of The Football League (in the case of a Member Club which is in membership of The Football League);
114.2. he is a Trialist provided that if another club holds his registration, that club has given written permission (to be copied to the Board) for the player to play for the Member Club in Matches and there may be no more than five Trialists named on the team sheet for any Match (including those under the provisions of rule C1.9.1(e) of The Football Association Rules)".

wonder how long is left on his contract coz he not on released list, probably no real value playing him in under 23s over who would be playing if he wasn't there.

He's probably one to look at in preseason if he still here by then

He's out of contract next summer.

Club want Payero to go out on loan

makes sense, i'd at least give him preseason to change his mind though, more value doing that than selling him right now

If he's willing to go to a League One side and hopefully tear it up down there I'd agree but I think he'll go abroad if he does leave on loan.

I don’t think Coulson is good enough personally and that’s why Warnock shipped him out. Don’t see Wilder fancying him either. Does a lot of running but nothing to show for it.

We'll end up wasting Payero. He's talented with great technical ability. He's shown glimpses but has been hampered with injuries and managers not utilising him. A loan would be good if we can guarantee he plays regularly. I'd prefer to loan him to the more physical of leagues similar to ours although Italy or Spain will be most likely.

Can't help but feel if we gave him a proper chance he'd be a real asset. His vision and range of passing is brilliant.

ah in my eyes that's just a loan to try and generate transfer interest or get him off the books, if we were interested in him he should stay in England and ideally the championship to see if he can click somewhere that can give him the chance, no value in playing in spain or somewhere coz he wont be used to English football still when he returns. Not sure what wages he on - which I'm assuming would be the factor to push him out aborad, but if we are comfortable with them then feel like they more value with us trying to bring him on or another English club

Do people reckon we'll announce a signing or two this month?

With more free agents available then usual. We announced Lumley on the 19th May.

Also, we signed Hall on 31st July when the season ended on the 22nd July the season the league got extended.

Would be a good boost to the end of the season if we did announce 2-3 good free agent signings wouldn’t it.

Absolutely. A free agent signing or two that are competent and proven at this level would fill fans with confidence.
