The only thing i can think of is that we lack a bit of height, so any height we do have is best utilised in the box. Seems a bit couter productive to me though, if the quality of the set piece isn't quite up to scratch anyway. I'm intrigued to see how he'll be used next season.

We desperately need a striker that can attack a header in both boxes, would help to solve a lot of our issues.

It's not exactly like you have to be a big slow grock either. Someone like Sporar at 6ft1 should've been much more capable in the air.

Our set pieces have been poor under successive Managers. We can disagree or agree about Tav or McNair or whoever taking them but in the modern game complex and clever routines are evident with many clubs and it's something that we don't seem to bother with. If everyone just stands trying to block off a Keeper while we launch it to the far post repeatedly then it becomes predictable and easier for the opposition to organise themselves.

Even our short corners are just that. As fans we hope that we are maybe going to work something clever but we know that ultimately it's just lumped into the box in the hope of finding the big lad. The blame for that can't be on Tav's or McNair's shoulders but the Coaching team. How difficult is it to come up with some routines that can be varied even if it means copying other sides routines?

He seems to have good anticipation, as in getting into the right area/position to save the shot when it comes. I wonder why the big two haven't snapped him up yet, that said he could the Keeper that has everyone asking us next season where on earth he came from!

Backup GK fine. But not as a starter. I'm fed up of us trying to do the GK position on cheap or a loan.

Do it properly or don't bother.

You need a keeper that's here for years. A reliable one who's going to win you 8-10 extra points a season.

We've scrimped and saved in a position that's too important for years. A different keeper every season.

The amount of keepers we're going through is laughable and they'll all been rubbish.

Totally agree. I havnt seen the lad play so I can't comment on his ability but if he was good enough to be a good championship gk I'd imagine he'd have been signed from St Johnstone by now. If he's bang average then I'd rather just have Hemmings or Brynn developing in the first team. Really we need to be signing a solid proven gk at this level.

Celtic have joe hart and rangers have Allen McGregor. But they might be missing a trick here. Iv seen that Zander Clarks form recently has earned him a call up to the scottish squad.

On saves and anticipation you cant argue with his ability. Video doesn't show him dealing with any crosses or what he's like sweeping. One of the forums I read said those were his weaknesses!

McGregor is 40 and out of contract, he might well retire this summer.

Poor article that. 10 mill for Spence? Coulson a Teessider? Come on Craig Johns ffs

It says more than £10 million. If you're going to criticise it, at least read it properly.

Looks like he's signing an extension and also his age hasn't seemed to slow him down at all based on last season's performance.
But my original point was replying to somebody asking why Celtic and the manager have snapped him up. Ranager have actually shown an interest in him going back to last season and may very well be a side that we compete with for his contract.
Tho, personally, i think with the money they have might aim for a bigger name in that position.

Apparently Clark is a big Rangers fans so it's highly possible that is where he ends up if they want him.

I know what it says. But did he really have to go as low as 10 million? Seems negative way to look at it. Could of said 15 million or more
