I'd be very happy if it is Lenihan. Think hes one of the best at this level. Very underrated.

Also happy to indulge in the dark arts, which I think is something missing from our backline.

I think in fairness to him when he has been in the Premiership he has been playing for a team scrapping to survive and to finish as high up the table as they can rather than playing for a swashbuckling attacking team putting their opponents to the sword. There is a massive difference in the amount of opportunities along with the quality of those chances.

Is it possible that part of the reason he has been playing in teams scrapping to survive is that they had a striker who wasn't all that prolific for them?

Here is a list of players who have scored more in a season in the Premier League than Mitrovic has, just looking over the last few seasons - Wilf Zaha, Ivan Toney, James Maddison, Jarrod Bowen, Ollie Watkins, Patrick Bamford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Callum Wilson, Chris Wood, Danny Ings, Kelechi Iheanacho, Raul Jimenez, Tammy Abraham, Glenn Murray, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Ashley Barnes, Ayoze Perez, Joshua King, Luka Milivojevic.  I've left out all of the top teams players, and even some 'big' names like Vardy, Richarlison.  There's a lot of players who weren't playing for free-scoring teams there who have managed to do more than he has.  I would say that this coming season is a big one for him, cos if he ends up with 6 goals or whatever, coming off the back of the fantastic season he's had, then he's simply not a top flight striker.  I don't know if he has any ambitions to move elsewhere but I would say there's a reason that after a massive season like this one that there is no talk of clubs coming in for him.  I'm guessing they want him to show that he can do it in the Premier League.

Mitrovic’s record for Fulham in PL was more about how they played than his ability

Was his record for Fulham in the Championship more about how they played than his ability as well then?
