Wellbeck would potentially score a load of goals at this level. Has he got a Brighton contract next year? Info online suggests his contract is up at the end of the month so wouldn't be a loan. Not that we have any chance of getting him he'd have no reason to drop down as he's still a good prem striker and the fact hes still a 10-15 mil player on id imagine more than 50k a week. He's a level above the likes of Armstrong as in that he can still perform well quite consistently at the highest level. Anyway I only mentioned in response to another comment about people's expectations and evaluations of players bring quite strange at times. Anyway it would be a bit boring if everyone had the same opinion. Yeh injuries would be a worry but I'm still sure we wouldn't hesitate to bring him in if it was at all possible. He's at an age where he can't be happy with just 5-10 games a season. Read an article from their local paper that Leicester prefered a sale last summer to newcastle but were open to a loan and also helping out with wages. He's now a year further along and into his final year, so we might be able to do a decent permanent deal. His wages vary a lot up to 60k a week which is ridiculous considering his contract was signed back in 2019. Link to post Share on other sites

You remember correctly but that was because our defensive structure was protecting him very well. We were one of the best teams at limiting high quality chances.
