Has a future of sitting on the bench behind two keepers. Must be a slow morning for them haha

Could make sense if they're worried about the homegrown player limit, they'd get more money for dubravka too.

Payero did an interview yesterday with Argentinian TV and seems the Boca deal is dead

"My priority is to stay in Europe" is a direct translation of part of his interview. I think he also says he's had no communication from Argentina, but the google translation of that bit isn't particularly clear.

They've got Gillespie on the books too.

Premier League squad is 25 players, they only need 8 homegrown.

Pope, Tripper, Gillespie, Wilson, Targett, Burn, Willock, Ritchie, etc.

They have loads.

I understood "no".

My Spanish is severely lacking.

But interesting that it may have just been Internet gossip again about an 18 month loan.

But if you're only allowed 17 non-homegrown players, would they want to use one of those 17 spots on a back-up keeper? Similar to why Spurs have bought Forster in. I can imagine them bringing in a lot of non-british players in the next couple of seasons.

Dubravka is a decent keeper though, Spurs brought in Forster because Gollini didn't do particularly well when called upon as 2nd choice, and Forster has had a bit of a renaissance.

I imagine the fact he's homegrown was a bonus more than essential.

The quote that flashes along the bottom translates to "My priority is to stay in Europe", so I think that rubbishes any loan back to Argentina.

It's definitely more of a problem for Spurs than Newcastle tbf. My Spurs mate says that Dier, Davies, Rodon and Doherty are all classed as non-homegrown players for the Champions league as they were all played in non-English teams, even if it was still the Championship/PL. So Spence being English is quite key for them.
