If Lenihan is better than Fry, why is Lenihan here on a free transfer, and the same people who are suggesting this are talking about us selling Fry to a Premier League club for millions?  Wouldn't the Premier League clubs just have signed the better player on a free transfer if that was the case?

Exactly!

The right and left CB’s need to be ball playing lads with control and ideally pace, Fry is never an overlapping CB in a month of Sundays. I hope and expect the starting line up to have a new LCB, Lenihan and Dijksteel as 1st choice

I would hope that Paddy can challenge for RCB, DCM, RCM first and foremost and be an option at LCB at a push.
Fry is only capable at CCB in Wilders system. This gives us the options to rest Lenihan and Paddy at times (following Internationals for example), Paddy especially as he was burned out come the last 3 games. There will be some rotation dependant on the opposition and some forced through injury.

Totally agree

I still remember when he played for Ipswich and he scored two goals in the same game against us. He has always caused us problems. Hopefully he can do the same for us this season not a bad option to bring of the bench!

Boro put video of new lads training on Twitter. Odd that the training vid is only on for 40 seconds. Usually on for over 5 minutes. Probably over thinking it but could they be trying to hide someone 👀

I hope he’s not causing us problems from the bench this season to be honest

Lenihan and Fry will get a good amount of games each. It does not need to be one or other. It can be both. We need to remember Fry regularly misses around 12-15 games a season. I stand to be corrected but think he only completed one season where he played 35 or more league games for us.

You then got to factor in Dijksteel in his 3 seasons has picked up knocks and misses games as well.

Lenihan, Fry, Dijkstell, Paddy and the new LCB will all play major roles next season

“He scored goals in our promotion year, and he’s got a great attitude and work ethic. He’s one of the favourites of the punters, a favourite with the players and one of the best players I have ever worked with.”

Can see why Wilder wants him back then.

I mean it's not saying much for the standard of player Wilder has worked with lol.
