How have Spurs managed to get the Richarlison deal done so quickly with personal terms already agreed and just a matter of time before a deal is agreed between the two clubs. Whereas they’ve been trying to get Spence all summer? Either they aren’t serious about Spence or they were trying to get him for as cheap as they can because we are a championship club.

Also maybe that fella Paratici doesn’t mess about and gets the deals over smoothly and quick. Where as we have Levy dealing with the spence deal, he’s that tight he turns the gas off when flipping his bacon

The full translation of that Payero in the Gazette today is a lot more encouraging about him wanting to stay and fight for his place.

Obviously not just down to him, but I'd like him to prove himself.

That article also says that we've "only" paid 3 million euros up front for him. A lot less than other figures that's been bandied about. I guess there are add ons like promotion etc. but so far he hasn't been that expensive a gamble.

As long as he's fully committed in training, I see no reason why he won't be given a chance in pre-season. Remember, it's Chris Wilder and others at the club who see these players every day, if they're bombed out of the club there's probably a good reason.

Personally I would guess it's His not being able to speak Fluent English...It must be difficult for both CW & Payero

3 managers of varying styles and ability didn't want him near their starting lineup this season... He's probably on decent championship wages so L1 clubs will probably come in looking for a bargain at the end of the window when were more desperate to get rid.

I remember Warnock saying he is one of the lowest paid players in the entire squad so it was a no brainer to take a chance on him.

Nothing new from me.

Spence still going to Spurs and we’re spending some on Gyokeres and getting Gayle.

Hope this is true!

Would be very happy with Gyokeres. Gayle I feel is about 2 years too late plus he's rarely played for 2 seasons, however if he can somehow get back to his best, then he's proved to be a lethal finisher in this division.

Steffen, Lenihan, Giles, Gyokeres, Gayle would be one hell of a window. And that's not forgetting the signing of Roberts and Howson's extension, as well as potentially getting in a LCB!

I don't remember this, got a link? Would seem unusual man management to come out in public and tell everyone what someone is earning relative to his colleagues.

Though to be fair, sounds like just the kind of deflection Warnock was king of. Move didn't work out, try to rationalise it to make himself look better.

But is that “paid up front” as in that is the total fee before conditional add-ones or does it mean we have only paid 3m€ out in cash so far, because we were paying in instalments (which we almost always do)?

Fingers crossed something happens with DS today then.

I'm sure I read that Spurs start pre-season next week in Korea, so you'd think they'd want him to be part of that.

I'll be glad when he's finally gone tbh, getting a bit sick of it now.
