It is a huge outlay, but we are also apparently selling one of our own players for £15-20m after one good season too.

But this is modern football, and that seems to be the way it goes.

Yeah I can see both sides but I think goalscorers are much harder to come by than wing backs, that’s why we need to get it right. I could be an expensive mistake

Yep, that's why usually they are more expensive. But I agree we have spent big money on strikers in the past, which some didn't pay off, but quite a few did. Fingers crossed who ever we sign can bag a few for us.

Yeah that’s the point I was trying to make in regards to we’ve spent a lot in the past. I don’t think we will see a 20+ goal striker even though wilder said he will expect that, the fact he chops and changes the front 2 quite often aswell won’t help. But if we are looking at predominantly 3 main strikers who will rotate you want at least 40 between them minimum.

I'd be happy with Armstrong and Gayle as our first choice front 2, obviously doesn't solve the problem long term but would be huge upgrade on what we had last season.

The Boro admin will know who we're signing a few hours before we announce them. Most teams have tweets scheduled to come out at certain times and also have multiple tweets made for a possible outcome ready.

You need either a workhorse like Gyokeres or a more linkup type like Piroe to go with either of those. Don't think they'd work as a two.
