Yeah it's great isn't it.  *** me, pleased that you can slag off one of our players again?  The mentality of some people on here beggars belief at times.  I remember when I used to get accused of bein

RELAX, guys ... I got this!  Mr. MDT RECORD is back at the helm and we will win the next 7 games ❤️  Away to Swansea we will play .. Win we will, cause over yet it is not!

I remember a time where we drew the last 4 games and went up on GD .. 😛

I know some folks do not like the "must win" term

But it is isn't it?

It depends on other results, but we can't keep relying on those... It's as close to a must win as you can get at this stage

I'm one that doesn't like the term... no doubt it is super important but if we draw today do we just throw in the towel and play kids for the rest of the season and not care about results? I don't think so.

It's just so frustrating how much we've let it slip away in the last few weeks... there is still hope though!

What is our record like at Swansea? Pretty awful?

I'm so happy you asked! Gives me an excuse for my stat dump... 😁

Overall:      W21  D11  L19

Home:        W15  D5   L5

Away:        W6   D6   L14

Historically we have a pretty poor record at their place. Boro's last 10 trips to Swanland (I forget the name of their stadium), stretching back to May 15th 1982, yielded the following results: W2 D2 L6.

On current form things are a bit closer. Swansea have pretty solid form at home, while Boro's away record is not all that terrible.

Swansea (Home):      W9  D5  L4          Last 5: WWWDD

Boro (Away):              W6  D5  L8         Last 5: WLLDL

On the above evidence and on the back of our last 4 games, I'm definitely not hopeful of a win. Would be happy with a draw, but would not be at all surprised if this panned out like the Hull game.

Going to be optimistic and go for a draw. Swansea 1 - 1 Boro

Perhaps he's worried you might sue him for theft of intellectual property by using your catchphrase. 😁

Got to admire your stance but it really is for me and possible 90% of Boro fans

Currently say on the train off to this one. Meeting a swans supporting workmate at his local football club then getting on their bus down to the ground 😳😳😳
If this is the last you hear from me please avenge my death ☠️

I doubt we'll have to do that. You might get your arm broken, but thats about as bad as it'll get.

I don't mind the term if there's anything to play for.

Mathematically there may still be, but realistically for me, we're just seeing out the season and fulfilling fixtures.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Wilder play the U23s, but no doubt he'd get slated for throwing the towel in.

That's not what being realistic means.

If we beat the team that's 13th in the table today, we're either keeping pace with or gaining on the teams above us before having a game in hand against the team that's currently 17th on Wednesday.

Win both and we are guaranteed to at least be 7th, outside of the play-offs on goal difference, and could potentially be 6th.

There's nothing unrealistic about the team currently in 9th beating the team currently in 13th today.

You're acting like we're 9 points behind with 3 to play when you say we're just seeing out the season, we're not.

Far from it - my opinion is form on the basis of who we have left to play, recent form and witnessing the problems currently plaguing our team.

As I see it, we are unlikely to win today, based on history and form this season. That will put us further away from the top 6 if results go against us.

We then have Cardiff at home, which you would expect us to win. But we then have to play Stoke at home, who are no mugs and finish the season at Preston, who are draw specialists at home.

So even being reasonably optimistic, I can see us getting no more than another 6 points from those 4 games. Pretty sure 69 points won't be enough to finish in the top 6. Thats before you factor in Boro's leaky defence and goalscoring problems...

Furthermore, I'd turn your argument around and ask what makes you think Boro will go on an unlikely winning streak?
