Wilder said that Akpom didn't start because of his lack of conditioning. Which is a fair enough reason, but it's Wilder's fault for not involving him in pre-season.

End of the day if you go 3-0 down in the first half you can't complain when you come away empty handed at full time

If Wilder insists on playing this system of releasing the wingbacks upfield then he has to solve the problem of who is going to protect the centre halves when we lose possession. The best example was

Baring in mind this is not even a full strength QPR team as they're dealing with a few injuries our performance that half was shocking.

Identical to our last away game at Preston, put us up against a mediocre physical Championship team and we crumble the fact there's different personnel out there with the same result is really concerning.

Giles has been the bright light, Jones has looked absolutely headless and Crooks, Howson and McGree might as well nip over to Harrods after their impressive audition as mannequins in that first half.

an we have fry and paddy back in defense asap please.

forss was worse than coburn last week. this week hes been worse than watmore. looks bang average, hopefully we see something from us in an attacking sense and he can get more involved. although i'm suspecting he might be one of those players who is always on the fringe of the game.

midfield is terrible we are being over run in there. just like back end of the season. they need to get a grip.

qpr have been about as good as they can be but never had that many chances just scored a wordie and a keeper howler put them in control. we looked shell shocked. its like sheff utd away all over again. but qpr are not as good.

Knew fine well losing Tav would do this, he carried this team so much last year. We’ve got no legs in midfield whatsoever

Don’t forget we had many performances similar to this when Tav played.

- was Akpom clearly better? he started well for sure, but after the first 10/15 mins I don't recall him doing a great deal that was mind-blowingly better than Watmore. it's 50/50 decision... hardly a howler from Wilder.

- Lenihan playing over Fry probably because he played really well against WBA and Fry is coming back from an injury?

- Bola is a strange one yeah, but maybe Wilder wanted to continue with the same team that did pretty well against WBA. This is the only obviously bad one imo, but it's certainly not down to Bola being his favourite

Did you watch the WBA game?

Akpom was clearly better - mainly because of how bad Watmore was. Look back at the ratings last week and I’d be surprised if there is a single fan that even give them the same rating.

Lenihan was bullied for the whole of the second half and was at fault for their goal by charging after the ball for no reason.

Wilder picking two short full backs in a  back 3 against a team with such a physical attack has been interesting.

I wouldn't say any of the goals came about because of a lack of height though.

Jones errors leading all three goals, Steffen howler for the 2nd, poor marking for the third.

Seen absolutely nothing from Forss in this half.

We knew what we were buying. All the noise from Brentford fans was hes a great finisher but offers not much else.

We won't see the best of Forss until we have someone next to him to cover for his inadequacies. That definitely isn't Watmore.
