BORO v Coventry - Semi Final 2nd Leg 0-1

Recommended Posts

Probably an unchanged team but it's a close call. I don't think Smith and Jones play well together and Jones is the player most likely to give the ball away cheaply but I'm not convinced Forss is fit enough to start. I also think it would be a knock against Jones is he loses his place.

Mowatt has done really well but I think it's clear that Howson and Hackney is still our best midfield pair. That said, I suspect Howson will be back on the bench but not fit enough to start.

It might be just that Paddy hates Gyokeres but it felt like something has clicked for McNair over the last couple of games. He's now defending like a defender rather than a midfielder doing a job. If this is his new normal then he's now a better option than Fry.

About time for a 3-1.

Penalty takers. Forss, Akpom, Crooks, Howson, McNair

I would rather beat Sunderland but if we had to lose I would rather not lose to Sunderland. Mowbray has Sunderland playing without fear and Diallo is genuine top Premier league class. We can probably out-score them. I think Luton might feel the pressure. Sunderland have showed that they can wilt.

I reckon Forss starts this one and get 60 minutes or so. Who knows with the rest. I'll be interested to see if Hamer makes it for them as he was really struggling at the end there and that might get worse when the adrenaline has worn off today.

Go Rob… I can only wish and before half-time please so I can relax and watch the second half without any stress.

to ease the pressure, only half the goals are required at half time, the second half everyone can just take it easy attempting wing pings from anywhere on the pitch

does make me laugh he was limping the match before at the end, makes you wonder if he was told to ham it up for coventrys benefit lol

Yeah I think a fresh jones against a tiring Coventry defence would be a great weapon to come on too

It would be but if level it would mean we lose Forss as a penalty taker. He just smashed them which is a safer bet

we never had any issues with penalties in the past, I dont think we will have much of an issue in the event of a shoot out, its a bit like flipping a coin anyways,

if we can win them with Lumley in goal then there is hope there even without him on the pitch

Sunderland will win at Luton, when we played them at their place I thought we were a far better team, they scored from a corner then the dodgy penalty

Yes theyre 3rd for a reason but I didnt see it against us & certainly didnt see it v the Mackems, Mogga is a very good manager he'll get em over the line

We had the best penalty shoot out record in the country at one time, still up there with the best mind

think its coz their style of being tough and grinding things out has been consistent over the whole season, they haven't really been derailed and when they have moved away from having good form its only seemed like it was for a short period of time before they had a decent run again.

started well and maintained what they were upto always being in and around the play offs.
