And for all the talk of negating Gyokeres, they did well to take Archer out the game. He only needs one chance... We have to give him more to work with.

This. We need to do our best to create chances for Archer. He’s the best finisher in the league. Give him 2 half chances and he will score at least 1 of them.

Don't think we need to change much. If Chuba scores one or both of those chances, first leg would have been almost a perfect performance.

The difference on Wednesday will be we have to score, probably a couple. Bit more quality and speed with our passing to get behind the wing backs is needed.

And for all the talk of negating Gyokeres, they did well to take Archer out the game. He only needs one chance... We have to give him more to work with.

On this point, would anybody be tempted to throw a curveball and start Barlaser over Mowatt?

Not that I think Mowatt necessarily had a poor game on Sunday, but from what I’ve seen these two games against Cov they’re very compact and a bit of a nightmare to break down. They’ve managed to limit us to only a handful of chances in over 180 minutes played against them.

I still don’t think we’ve seen the best of Barlaser in a boro shirt yet, and while it undoubtedly would be a big call to make he’s still been one of the best creative players in the league this season and could be the key to unlocking a stubborn Cov defence.

Yep. Sky are loving the Akpom v Gyokeres angle... But in my humble opinion, neither will be the best forward on the pitch.

Archer is pure class.

He's got a more incisive pass for sure. But Mowatt was very good... would be a bold call to swap them.

I wouldn't swap mowatt for barlaser at the moment. Mowatt is playing well and doing a great job controlling the midfield. Remember away from home we had st least 3 really good chances to score, one of those goes in and were not talking about lack of creativity. We can bring barlaser on if we need a goal later on

This was my concern yesterday but I was not expressing myself very well. Sky pundits said it well.

ROBSON KANU

The second leg could be difficult at Middlesbrough because you would expect as the home team, they're going to want to be on the ball.

"But actually, that suits Coventry's game. Going into the second leg, away from home, they're not going to have the pressure to come out as a team and entertain their home fans. So from their perspective, there are a lot of plusses they can take."

MCANUFF

McAnuff agreed, adding: "I think it's perfectly set up for how Coventry want to play. Me and Hal played together at Reading one season and drew 0-0 against Cardiff City in the first leg and went away from home where there was no real pressure on us.

"If you sit in and are compact, which Coventry are, you can hit them on the counter, which is what we did and what Coventry can do. The game is there for Coventry to exploit with the way they like to play. There will certainly be so much expectation for Middlesbrough to deal with around the Riverside."

I don't think many fans will be going to the Riverside on Wednesday expecting to be entertained, nor do I think that Carrick or the team would be pressured in to trying to be entertaining over effective.

The result is all that matters this time.

But we did exactly the same at their place and they never laid a finger on us.

We need to keep calm and take our time. But be clinical. I trust Carrick. If it doesn't come off so be it, but it won't be due to pressure or us bottling it.

They will get a chance or 2 I'm sure. But surely we will make a good few chances.

Obviously they’re entitled to their opinions but I feel like you can easily manipulate these things to fit whichever agenda you like. Is the reverse not just true for us?

You could say that the way in which we play wanting to have a lot of the ball lends itself to us being the home team. Or that the pressure is on them because they have to do something which only Burnley have managed to do in the league all season, which is to beat a Michael Carrick team at the Riverside.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but only just realising that Bidwell played for Brentford when we best them in the play off semis. He must still think about that

Good spot that. I did think that during the first leg but thought I must have been wrong. Interesting stat that

No doubt has the memory of Kike whipping his shirt off burned into his brain. He’ll be desperate to get that one back.

I wouldn't worry about what they have to say. It's their job to make the tie look as interesting as possible for the viewers.
