Huddersfield v Boro (League Cup) 2-3 (Silvera, Jones, McGree)

Recommended Posts

I know it is unrealistic to presume we can actually win the cup but at the same time I do not want us to go out (again) at the first round.

Mini cup runs are good for the club sadly they dash our hopes when we eventually do go out the closer we get, double edged sword and all that!

I don't think we do but I really hope we do win. Especially given it is Championship opposition, the sooner we get that first win of the season on the board, the better. We waited 7 games last season and that Stoke away game especially felt like a right kick in the teeth. The 2 games we did win under Wilder, we didn't win playing our best football. I remember we gave up most the possession to the opposition and just asked them to break us down. They were well grinded out but something about them didn't feel right, we weren't winning games playing the way we wanted to play. So the sooner we get that monkey off our back this season, the better.

IF Payero starts, it will be a huge opportunity for him to show that he can still offer us something.

I hope that he does start and I hope that he takes his chance. Would love to see how he does in Akpom's role.

We actually beat Warnock tonight

They play a weak team, we go strong and dominate the ball all game winning 3-0 thanks to Silvera, Rogers and Nkrumah

Into Cov game with slight belief

I don't think we will go strong and I think we'll go out 1-0 in a dire game. Gametime for all the unproven players we have signed but a Warnock team will beat us physically. I just can't see us getting anything here.

Strong side and a good performance please. Need some rhythm and confidence ahead of Saturday, as the entire mood around the club will plummet if we're comprehensively beaten by Coventry.

With Giles gone we need pace and creativity from the wide midfiedlers. I'd go Forss up top - I've never liked him on the wing and he's the one I trust most with a chance in the box. 30 mins for Akpom and Howson would be nice.

------------Dieng---------------

McNair - Fry - Lenihan - Coulson

-----Barlaser - Hackney---------

---Jones - McGree - Silvera

------------Forss-----------

Who would you play? Howson is just back from injury and I'd rather he was 100% to start Saturday.

Barlaser is here to stay, so we're better off getting him up to speed than instantly dropping him and turning him into the next boo boy.
