  • Also in a sea of negativity I do want to pick out at least one positive. I thought Morgan Rogers looked really dangerous at times today. More so second half when he seemed to swap with Crooks (fi

I'm really trying not to post at the moment but we are certainly making it difficult. Carrick ❌ has another mark against him unfortunately.  The team selections just don't make much sense to me a

I thought everyone had got used to him being our little raincloud? I know at least a few of us find his "defeat is inevitable" posts mildly amusing.

Hope he continues on from how we finished Tuesday with Rogers left and silvera up top. SS seems a lot more clinical in front of goal than Rogers, who is good at linking up.

Gus Hamer will not be playing. Having a medical with Sheffield United. For me the best player in the league so that’s a huge bonus for tomorrow. Quietly confident now depending on our team selection

As Trini Lopez once said....  "If we had a Hamer"..   Think Coventry are still in the same place as us and getting over the playoffs. They have also lost their best players if he does go to Sheff U and if our defence turns up, I think we are in with a decent chance of a result and a kickstart to the season

It's a new season with 2 different squads, but looking back on the playoff games we lacked creativity over the two games. Coventry did a great job in stopping our usually style from creating chances, I just feel we need the directness of Silvera and Jones in this one.

Questions:
1. Will we finally beat Coventry?

I wouldn't like to put money on it. If they have a bunch of new faces in the first team, they won't be the solid, well-drilled unit we faced last season...but then Boro aren't as good as they were either.

I suspect we may come away with a scrappy draw.

2. Will we get anyone new in before the weekend?

Unlikely...and even if we do, as OMG said, they won't even make the bench.

3. Is Chuba off?

Certainly looks that way. I've been rather out of the loop...why are we even getting rid of him? He was amazing last season so what's changed? Did we not want to offer him a good enough contract...or does he just see his future elsewhere? Either way I'll be sad to see him go.

4. Who are you wanting to see up front?

Anyone who can hold the ball up, win battles against big, burly defenders and most importantly, stick the ball in the net.

5. Are you more optimistic after Tuesday's result?

Not really. We were playing against 10 players for most of the match and still conceded a late goal. I mean its great our forward line clicked and we managed to score 3, but we're still rather weak defensively.

My Prediction: Coventry 1 - 1 Middlesbrough

He's got Prem clubs and Champions league clubs sniffing around, can't begrudge him those kind of moves really, I just can't see him signing a contract that locks him into the Championship for the next few seasons he'd likely be able to get similar contracts at Lens and Ajax (definitely not at Sheffield United though 👀).

He's got prem & other top league interest & we can't afford what he's looking for anyway.

Coventry have got rid of every player that scored against us for them 👐

It's okay, they'll have a raft of new ones after tomorrow! 🤠 (after we beat them 6-5 of course.)
