Pleased about O'Brien, not sure about Silvera and Crooks... Looks like the usual set up too, which hasn't worked at all.

Coburn deserves a chance, Lath only has himself to blame for being so wasteful. Hope it doesn't dent his confidence too much and he gets a decent run from the bench though.

  • Please for the love of god, losing Giles, akpom, archer etc doesn’t mean we’re the worst team in the league!!!! Dieng, Fry, Lenihan, Hackney, O’Brien, Jones, VDB, Forrs, McGree are all capable pl

He's not a League One player, come on now.  He might not be the best bet to play behind your striker but the lad has 18 goals and 8 assists in 2 seasons and 7 games.  He can quite clearly play at this

Surprised that Coburn has been selected. I like him and think he has something but nothing so far has shown Carrick thinks the same.

really hope he takes his chance.

Same system, different players, let’s hope it’s a different result, although I still can’t see how he intends to stop our midfield being overrun. Are we in the Carrick last chance saloon now?

Aye. He doesn’t have clue what he’s doing at the moment. Seems all very amateurish

That seems a bit of a bonkers conclusion to me, personally. Like there is some clearly working solutions he is avoiding trying with this team.

I can understand maybe wanting Latte Lath in but it's not like he's banging in the goals either.

Not sure what the big problem is, personally. Not like anyone who isn't in the side has been producing enough to justify their inclusion. Coburn came on for a good cameo the other week and has rarely let us down. McGree back in the side. O'Brien partnering Hackney in midfield is what we need to see more of.

Is there anything anyone can see there that is unquestionably and justifiably wrong with the team tonight?

Crook as nr 10... 😀 Rather have McGree there and Latte out wide

Crooks is going to go out right I think? It’s not filled me with a lot of confidence if I’m honest - I also think it’s a case of throwing *** at the wall and hoping some sticks.

Surely Silvera and McGree either side with Crooks behind Coburn.

It might not be exactly the same. Similar, but if he asks O’Brien to sit a little deeper and protect the CBs a bit then the shape would be improved for me.

Crooks is nowhere near as big a problem in this side as some make out. I wouldn't have picked him but there's plenty of occasions I wouldn't have done that and he's gone on to score important goals.

Random team selector again. Not the team I would go with but I suppose at least McGree is playing.

From my mate who is a Weds fan. He’s at the game…

Keep an eye out for tennis balls on 15th minute lol .. Fletcher up front today

Could just as easily be Hackney and McGree as two ‘8s’ and no 10?

It is better than the weekend.  But my point is, again, its completely different. There's just no plan, he's just changing lots in the hope it works.

Is he?

Even if it was a 4-3-3, I'd expect Crooks to be in midfield and McGree out wide. McGree played a lot of games out wide for us last season. I don't think Carrick has given us any reason to think it's a 4-3-3 though. I dread to think of it as Crooks out wide, remember him playing there in his first game at Fulham. Lightyears away from what he has produced since.
