Boro line ups at the moment are guesswork mate especially the actual selections.

  • Regardless of the result, today is a MASSIVE win for me..... A year ago this week I was rushed into hospital having panic attacks.... For a long period anxiety and panic attacks has stopped me

  • Please for the love of god, losing Giles, akpom, archer etc doesn’t mean we’re the worst team in the league!!!! Dieng, Fry, Lenihan, Hackney, O’Brien, Jones, VDB, Forrs, McGree are all capable pl

He's not a League One player, come on now.  He might not be the best bet to play behind your striker but the lad has 18 goals and 8 assists in 2 seasons and 7 games.  He can quite clearly play at this

I can see the clamour for change up front but I think he will stick with Lath in the hope a goal or two will get his confidence up and get him firing

I remember hiding behind the settee when I was a kid when the Daleks were on Dr Who and I just might hide behind the settee once again tonight!😬

True story, I went out with a lass whose parents brought her up on the original Doctor Who show, she would run upstairs every time the Daleks came on screen as she knew they couldn't tackle them.

She grew up with this fear of Daleks. Then she was watching the new stuff as they first came out and this scene happened.

Absolutely cacked herself, apparently.

Gonna call it now. We play Sheff Wed off the park. We get a clean sheet, Lath scores and looks dangerous all night. We score from a corner and we look like we’re motivated and bothered to fight for 3 points all game - the boro of last year #FreeFlowing

I just cannot take yet another lacklustre display against a team who’s been newly promoted, new manager, and in a similar situation to us and not because of bad luck.

I don’t think Carrick will change from the 4231 but I have a feeling we go and play this team

Dieng

Rav Fry Len Bang

Obrien Howson

Forss Hackney Mcgree

For someone who is really calm and believes in the players he sure does change the team a lot 🙃

Maybe he believes in all of them and not just the best 11 (assuming that he knows the best 11) ?

I'm beginning to wonder if he uses a system like this to pick the squad numbers?

...and playing at left back...number 23...thats Tom Glover...

I’m old enough to have watched. Haunting sound track. But of course there was magic roundabout, captain pug wash, zebebee, jackanory, Blue Peter & Shep and then Kenny Everett & Top of the pops & Pans People.

Based on what I've seen so far and injuries we're aware of, what I'd go with tonight:

Dieng

VDB Fry Lenihan Engels

Hackney O'Brien

Forss McGree Jones

LL

I think that midfield 2 needs O'Brien. He's a good player but I'm not convinced we get anything more than a 6/10 from him further up the pitch. He's an influential midfielder, let him influence proceedings at both ends from the middle, where he has shown he does best elsewhere. It's not a wholly outdated philosophy that good players will play well regardless of where you play them but it definitely ranges from Pulis to Fergie in its success. And Howson right now isn't enough of a positive influence on proceedings that he should be seen as undroppable. Seems silly when we have plenty of options for further up the pitch, too.

That attacking 3 reminds me a bit of Stuani and Adomah on either wing, too. One primary creator (albeit one whose crossing range probably isn't quite as good or consistent as Adomah's) and one additional goalscorer without pushing someone directly up front. And in between them, a Downing/Ramirez who drifts around, supports all parts of the attack and scores goals himself.

Honestly don't mind too much between LL and Coburn. I've been pretty impressed with both of them in their own way, there's more to come from each of them but LL is arguably only missing the final piece of the puzzle right now.
