As a sign of the times, my dad is away for the match and I have offered his ticket to 14 people up to now and not one of them has said yes.

Maybe they just don't want to go with you 😜

1. What's your score prediction?

2-1 Boro. Genuinely think we'll win this one (as I did with the last 7 games). S'ton haven't been the force a lot of people thought they would be.

2. On a scale of 1 to "I can't watch this anymore," where does your pre-match anxiety level currently stand?

A 3.5 I think. More apathy than anxiety.

3. Would a solid win here win Carrick much-needed favour, or is there much more needing to be done?

I think it would. This squad should be good enough for at least mid table. Just need a bit of a confidence boost

Crooks it is then! 🙄

Don't remember typing that. I was imagining Crooks plays last 15 mins.

Middlesbrough 1-9 Southampton
(Lumley o.g. 90+15)            (Che Adams 1,2,3,4,5,90+1,90+2,90+12, 90+14)

Offer it to me and I can be your 15th person to say no.

Bit positive you think we’re going to score?

I'm finally predicting a Boro loss, after predicting 7 wins up till now, because I've ran out of every other superstitious reason for why we're not winning.

Ah man, thanks for the offer but I have to feed my dog that day

Not expecting much.

Progression at this stage would be a team selection that actually looks like it makes sense, preferably without Crooks in attack and with some sort of revamped formation that actually covers the defense.

Make us more solid at the back as a priority - then use the pace we have to break.

We're gonna get beaten easily and the Riverside will turn really toxic when Southampton inevitably score first.

Assuming Bangura is still injured and Forss has recovered, this will be the team. RvD slotted in nicely at LB and i'd like to see him play a full game there. Jones at RB and Lath brought back in to cause Southampton problems (one of his shots has to go in eventually!) Crooks in the middle because Silvera has been absolute pony (and McGree is better on the left anyway.)

I remember it turning toxic vs Southampton in the final game of the premier league season.

Slaphead being in goal didn't help

Sunderland beat these 5-0 with 31% possession. Will we learn from how others have found success against them? I'd wager not.

We're their dream opposition. Wide open, soft, stand-offish, and disinterested unless we have the ball. Happy to go toe to toe with worse players in every position.

Will probably mean we score ourselves but I could see us losing 4-1, 5-2, something daft like that.

We'll be more than three points adrift and Gibson will be in a nightmare scenario with fans baying for blood at full time.

Apart from that, looking forward to this one 😎
