KO 15:00 - Vicarage Road

Ref - Oliver Langford

Historically we're not great at Vicarage Road but I'm looking forward to this. One step closer in our Milk Marketing Board, Littlewoods, Rumbelows, Coca-Cola, Worthington's, Carling, Capital One, Carabao Energy Drink™ EFL Cup run, and another favourable draw in us facing Exeter City surely looks to have boosted the club further. We needed this boost, as the lads seem to be working hard and hungry to win which could be argued as half of the battle.

Predicted Teams

Boro

Taking into account the previous few performances I'd be inclined to look at giving Rogers and Coburn another opportunity in the team. Coburn was brilliant last time out. I'm not sure on our LB situation, but I'd really like to see Bangura back from his hamstring injury if he's ready.

Watford

Reeling from their 3-0 loss at Leeds last time around, I'd imagine Watford will want to hit the ground running and take 3 points at home to restore order. Expecting a scrappy one with plenty of yellows.

This is their lineup last time out:

Insights:

1. Watford have won four of their last five home league games against us since a 2-1 home defeat in 2012.

2. Historical Matchup

Boro won: 6

Games drawn: 6

Watford won: 10

3. After our 2-0 win over Watford in January, Boro are looking to record consecutive league wins against Watford for the first time since 2011.

Questions:

1. What's your score prediction?

2. Would two up front be a welcome change, or will our tactical stoicism bare more fruit as time goes on?

3. Who's your favourite academy graduate of the last 30 years?

Answers:

1. Hopeful that we’ll continue winning so going with a cautiously optimistic 0-3 victory, courtesy of 2 goals from Coburn and a screamer from Hackney.

2. No idea. It like to see it personally with Coburn and LL up top. But LL behind Coburn could be just as effective I guess.

3. Can’t pick a favourite, but notable mentions go to Tony McMahon, James Morrison. Coburn gives me Danny Graham vibes and Hackney has to be the best CM we’ve produced?

Nearest ground for me but not the happiest of hunting grounds.

Mind you the away fans pub on the corner is very popular and well attended had a few meet up's there in the past.

Trains on strike will stop a few from attending and I believe we have not sold out our allocation.

Still Teddy is looking forward to going despite the result

Bangura will be out for a while longer.

Van den Berg is touch and go.

It just goes to show the increase in intensity between this level and where they came from. A couple of full games and their muscles have gave up already, there is definately still room for them to grow as their body’s adjust to the tempo.

Watford under Ismael feel like our Kryptonite team playing a Hipster Wimbledon style that we can't deal with. I have a bad feeling about this.

I'm expecting us to keep the same team that played Southampton with Smith or McNair in for the injured RVDB but no other changes except for injuries. I think Crooks will stay in place to deal with the physical challenge.
